At our rentals, having something to stop doorknobs from penetrating drywall is imperative. Since we use something like this at home, we tried them at a rental and quickly found that the doors were getting holed where this hits it. So something to consider depending on the quality of your doors and the amount of abuse that they'll take.
It doesn't take much effort to dent a door or door trim with this kind of stop. I had them in my last house and nearly every door frame had a mark where these were. And they were not mistreated at all. The stops that mount to the baseboard are better.
Yea but there are several doors in my house which need to be stopped at +-90 degrees to prevent hitting something else

Looking at the reviews and customer pictures on amazon, these seem to break easily and are made of plastic and painted?

Many of the people who write the reviews on products aren't even smart enough to be able to tell between a cast zinc-containing metal and plastic.
These are definitely not made of plastic, as that's obvious even from the picture of the same user who wrongly said it appeared to be plastic.
The finish isn't a 'paint' either.

yeah, I can't ever see the pics on Amazon reviews from customers worth a crap unless I screw around with zooming, which I didn't care enough to do here. the downsides of hi res monitors I guess.

I'm getting a lil off-topic (but I've seen far worse, lol) but this may be helpful to anyone trying to view a 'too small' reviewer's pics (or any pics):
If you're on pc, just right click on the pic, select copy image address/location, then open a new browser tab and paste that copied text into the address bar, hit enter and you will see the original full size pic.
It also can works on phone, with some modifications in place of the 'right click'.

Not sure if you saw it, but these door stop specs say they can adjust up to 125 degree angle (or down to 85 degrees), so it can stop doors that go somewhat beyond 90 degrees.

My bad. Now I saw the text of the person he was responding to, and it appears he chose these because of knowing that. Thanks.
