    I wandered into Walmart a few days ago, and they had a bunch of coffee and coffee pods on clearance, including 12 oz bags of Stumptown beans for only $3.75! Extreme YMMV.

    Stumptown is very average coffee. I would not categorize them as specialty coffee. Also store bought is likely going to be old and stale

    At $12.83 per pound, why is this a deal when you can buy many other excellent whole bean Organic coffees at less than half the price? Is Stumptown coffee that great? If so, the average reviews don't seem to support that, but admittedly, I've never had it.

    For example, Cameron's Coffee Organic Scandinavian Blend Whole Bean can be bought on Amazon for about $5.85 per pound (LINK [amazon.com]) or less with S&S. For members, Costco and Sams sell Organic Ruta Maya, Mayorga, and Cameron's coffees also at about 1/2 this price.

    I've had it as well and mine did not taste like a wet dog smells. Maybe you had a bad/old batch. I also noted that the Cameron's Coffee Organic Mountain Gold is exceptionally good.

    FYI...I updated the price per pound on the Cameron's to reflect the current, non-S&S price.

    Stumptown isn't worth a buck an ounce, at least not shipped. Ground for you in-store and roasted that week, sure, but not this.
