There is no game that 6800XT cannot run but 6950XT runs well. 15% performance different means a game runs at 40 fps on 6800xt runs 46 fps on 6950xt, hardly perceivable.
The power-spike behavior of this card is not to be ignored. A friend w 750 watt (which should be fine on paper) had to reduce power slider to prevent crashes.
Not saying it isn't a great card, esp in this market at.this price, just saying. Personally wouldn't take the $ hit of unloading a 6800xt to get this. I would go huge, or keep that perfectly acceptable card until next gen (or until you literally have a problem with a game).

If I were you I'd either get a 7900xtx at a very good price or 4090 at a very good price if I really wanted to upgrade. If I could wait I'd just wait for the next gen cards to come out and upgrade then.
Wonder if this is a noticeable enough performance jump from an rx570 4GB to justify the $580 price? 🤔
A 6950XT is more than a noticeable performance jump from a RX 570. It should be a night and day difference, but I'm going to guess that with an RX 570 that the rest of your PC also has components that are likely to bottleneck a 6950XT.

For clarification, the official recommendation by AMD was an 850W PSU minimum for this card from the start, and this is a partner-overclocked card. Sure, a well-below-average TDP CPU pairing with it might be able to help offset that, but that's not the norm, which is where their official recommendations comes from. So, no, I wouldn't say it is fair to say 750 is fine on paper. There's no abnormal behavior with regards to transient spikes on these cards; you build with the overhead to account for transient spikes unless your plan is to power limit from the start.

Think this is worth the extra $80. Like you said… only about 15% difference in performance.
