You say that like it's a good thing. Hint: It's not.
And it should surprise no one that the ugliest anniversary model by far is also the first one to be discounted to nearly $250 from the original $599 price that they were for the first 9 months after they were introduced. Two things the world certainly does not need are more black or sunburst/tobaccoburst guitars.

These 40th anniversary were $500 last month (600 in Europe) and they feel and play like they cost that much. They are a lot closer to the $850 Fenders than the cheaper Squiers.
Highly recommended, especially at this price!

That's a guitar that was made to sell for $200. The 40th Anniversary was made to sell for $500 and is now on clearance sale. They are not in the same league.
