He's being sarcastic. He knows if people use higher MERV filters their units won't last as long and thus he can make more profit. Dontknow
Oh, I knew he was being sarcastic. I was hoping if I asked for a recommendation that maybe he'd be helpful instead…

If you want my recommendation, go with the cheapest store brand filters. I use the lowest home depot ones. I replace them monthly, and have dogs that shed. I can't imagine how bad it would be if you used a low flow (high FPR) filter and also had dog hair clog the filter. As it stands, I bet my filters at the end of the month are at least a FPR of 7 or 9 when they get replaced, due to the reduced flow from the hair/dust. The cheapest Home depot brand filters are only about $4/ea~

The link to the 20x30x1 hasn't worked since the start of the sale for the MERV11 FPR 8-9. I have been trying for the past 3 days. You only get an error code. It only works on the MERV 13. Too high for my AC. The best and better are dithered out for me. I also tried surrounding stores. Wave

Still that add to cart error for 20 x 30 FPR 9 😔

Error code when I try and add 20x30 to cart. For either ship to store or ship to home.

Same issue for me

i was able to add 20x30 in cart if i have another size filter in the cart, maybe try that.

Same issue for me. I had another filter in cart but could not add 20x30. What filter you had in the cart before adding 20x30? May be it is zip code issue. What zip code worked for you? Thanks in advance

What do you recommend instead? I need some 26x25x1's.
I success in adding it to the cart by ordering the 20 in. x 30 in. x 1 in. MERV 11 - FPR 7 Allergen Plus Pleated Air Filter (12-pack) for $60. It is not the best price, but it is pretty close to what I paid last time https://www.homedepot.com/p/20-in.../203588530
This is probably the recommended MAX MERV 11/FPR 7 filter rating you should put in the AC/Heat unit. With any higher rating, you will start to get diminishing returns and leading to problems down the line with your AC/heat unit.

The HD ad for the HDX filters is misleading. It states buy 2 get 2 free HDX 1" filters, the only requirement is "Must have four of the same filters in the cart to receive discount". I added 4 of the 3 packs but they wouldn't honor the ad and give me the free ones, They tried to say that the discount was only for the 2 packs.

Only way for me to be able to add to the cart. Go through their special buy advertising page. You will see the 30"x 20" 12 pack for $60. I was able to add to cart and placed an order for store pick up next week.

you sure about that? According to the packaging on this product, these 11s are only the 2nd from the "worst" / 'bottom' in terms of what they can filter out. There are two levels above it, and just one below. Can you explain your thoughts on why Merv 11 is way too high?
Recently bought filters and my research showed Merv 10 is the maximum before potential damage to the A/C unit and ducts. Higher Merv restricts airflow causing part strain and premature failure. Also can cause mold growth inside the ducts as a result of insufficient air flow and moisture buildup. If you need a Merv 11 or greater, buy a booster fan first.

Your ac/furnace is not an air purifier. The filter protects the coils in your unit from getting clogged. Restricting your hvac system by trying to make it an air purifier damages your system.

Get a $100 HEPA air purifier instead of destroying your $15,000 hvac system.
