Check out Club de Nuit Intense Sillage. Smells VERY similar to SMW for less than $50 or less and lasts longer but that maybe because I spray it almost 2x as much because it's much cheaper than Creed SMW. Fyi, I have both and use SMW for special occasions and Sillage for everyday use.

The Armaf clones of Creed fragrances imitate the drydown pretty well and it's true that in many cases they last longer than the originals. However, in general they are much different and worse-smeliing in the openings. To me a lot of the magic in Creed fragrances like Silver Mountain Water, Green Irish Tweed, Millesime Imperial and others is in the fantastic and unique smell right after you spray them. In the case of CDN Sillage, the clone to Silver Mountain Water, there is something in the opening that is very off-putting and bothersome to me and it hangs around for the first hour or so after spraying. Further, they didn't even bother imitating the inky note of Silver Mountain Water, which is the most incredible thing about SMW to me. I would pass on Sillage. $180 for the original is an awesome price if you can afford it. If not, Tres Nuit and CDN Intense Man are better clones of Creed fragrances IMO.

Good price!

FYI there was news recently that "Gucci Owner Acquires Creed to Expand in Luxury Fragrances."

For what it's worth, I really enjoy that inky accord in SMW too, and Afnan Supremacy in Heaven emulates it rather nicely for a clone.

Excellent observations. In general the clones use higher % of synthetic ingredients overall instead of natural oils/ingredients. One of the reasons it is extremely difficult to clone the likes of Creed, Amouage, TF, Marly etc etc for the opening notes. The base notes can be imitated easily and also to an extent middle notes.

I had the Armaf Club de Nuit (clone of Aventus, I think?). I thought it smelled great, the first few times I tried it. But soon after my nose would itch every time I sprayed it on myself. It was pretty unpleasant. Had to give it away. I was assuming the synthetic ingredients are to blame.

Actually Gucci owner Kering purchased Creed through an all-cash deal to acquire 100% of the fragrance house from funds controlled by BlackRock just a couple weeks ago.
