Be warned, I bought this for Switch and everything except the Genesis games are download codes if that matters to you. I wouldn't have bought it if I knew they weren't all on the cart.

Too expensive to be digital, don't embrace digital purchases.

Sooner or later all of the Switch's digital library will be gone.

Do they all come with the booklet? I feel like this will make for a good black friday worthy purchase...wouldn't be playing it right now either way....

To be clear, was Sonic CD on the cart?
I won't bite if it's not, but probably will if it is.

Always the trade off. Digital is like paying extra for 5-10 years of loss/damage insurance and convenience.

Same price at Best Buy, slightly better deal if you have a paid membership and have 2 other games at a $29.99 price point to buy in order to take advantage of the B2G1 deal.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/...Id=6539807

What is the B2G1 deal?

Glad you asked, more info is in the article linked below:

I'm a digital guy too. But they're things that are wrong. Pretending to sell a game cartridge and instead putting a digital code is wrong. It's misleading, unnecessary, wasteful. Plays on ppl who want cartridge so selling digital to the wrong crowd. If they only wanted to give us a digital code then don't sell a box with a code. Just sell it as a digital code without the box. That's more honest.

Nintendo promised us to go back to the 80s with cartridge. Implies games will work bc then the games are final product with proper QC (ie no more update downloads). I didn't ask for it. That was their selling point. They should not offer companies to have this option to sell codes in the box. Poor practice. This is where congress could actually regulate the industry on the basis of wastefulness (what's a consumer to do with a box with no resell value).

Basically what Capcom did with the Re4,5,6 combo pack (only 4 was on the cart, 5 & 6 were codes). Extremely aggravating and wish I had just bought it digitally. If I recall the Spyro trilogy was the same way.

I never liked the "Digital code in a box" or "Half on the disc, half as a download" options, but I think one of the big reasons they sell these boxed games are for collectors who want something on the shelf or to display. Kind of a nostalgia thing (especially for retro titles like these) for something that otherwise probably would have been digital-only if not for the collectors wanting a box.

Not saying I like the practice, but that's what I understood the reason to be. It is weird that only the 12 gamegear games are downloads as I doubt those are more than 1MB each?

Yeah, my first PS4 copy of Spyro only had the first game on disc with the other two coming down as a big "update." Later, newer copies released that had them all on the disc, and I actually ended up rebuying a used copy from my local game store just to have the better version and gave the old one away to a friend.
