Mathematically and theoretically you are not right. 12 gauge of solid copper in sheathing, rated for 600V at 90 degrees is rated for 20A. You can't just apply the same logic to SJTW and expect it to have the same rating. Hell, 12/3 on SJTW doesn't even mean the same thing as 12/3 on Romex--it's literally one fewer conductor.

Even the photos you cite contradict you. The tag clearly says "125V, 15 Amp, 1875W"

EDIT: So some of you may be wondering then what the benefit of the larger gauge is. The benefit is to minimize voltage drop. The longer the run, the fewer volts at the device. Devices are rated to operate between some range--usually between 110V-130V, and outside of these values the device does not operate optimally, and potentially even dangerously. I got these a few years ago specifically for that reason. The added thickness however does make it a chore to wrap and unwrap neatly.
You're assuming the current flow is entirely dependent on wire gauge. There are other electrical connections in a power cord. Math and theory won't help you in life if you don't apply them properly.

Yes. Or you can make it 100 ft if you get 2 pack.

This same cord is at home depot but for one its $63.97

Someone asked in the questions how many watts 2 people said -
15 amps x 120 volts = 1800 watts
120V x 15 amps = 1800 watts Same as was answered back in June.

Edit - this brand Prime the home depot brand is yellow jacket.

12/3 means 12 gauge. 12 gauge is rated for 20amps at 110v-120v. 20amp x 120v = 2400watts. So upto 2400 watts if the outlet is on 20amp breakers.

Hard to tell from the pic, but I got a pair of yellow cords from Costco a few years ago and they are the most inflexible cords I have. They are quite beefy in construction but they are a royal PIA to coil up.

Wrong. The plug on the end of this cord is a 15a plug.
