I bought this for a few dollars more last week. It's pretty great. Gets cold fast and doesn't make much noise. Also for prospective Tesla Model Y owners, this does fit in the rear sub hatch trunk area. The trunk floor cover will rest on the cooler lid when it's shut, but it doesn't affect usability of the hatch area at all.

How long does yours take to get to temp? I just got mine a few days ago but it's taking about 4 hours to get down to 33 to 35 degrees after plugging it in

I would like to know, the seal. What material is that strip seal made of? is it foam? is it a rubber?
Does it appear to be thick when you close the lid, does it stop the lid closing until you push it closed or does the lid simply sound like plastic on plastic?
If it is foam... the plastic line the seal touches, is it an even line mark on the seal or is there any missing line marks on the seal? (this would indicate the seal is not thick enough, and paper can slide in that area being it would be an air leak).
Thank you in advance. Picts would be fantastic in you're reply!
thx again!

Less than an hour to get down to 27 degrees from a starting temp of 73. This was empty.

Thanks I might have to call them. I plug it in at 2pm and it's not in the 30s until about 630pm. It's been plugged in for about an hour and I'm only at 63

Just wondering, how long does it take people to cool down from room temp to frozen when the cooler is full?

And yes I understand you are supposed to pre charge and put in cold items as this maintains the temp. But sometimes on the road you put in room temp items like drinks and eventually want it nice and chilled....

i didnt know makita made fridges. are you talking about the $800 DCW180Z? it only cools to 15℉, but also warms up to 140℉, according to specs.

the posted $200 bougerv cooler can freeze to -7℉, but doesn't heat. i believe it can also be powered by an external battery, which in total would still cost less than the makita (tool only)

the makita and bougerv aren't comparable in price or features.

i didnt know ryobi made one either. that seems more comparable to the bougerv, although it's over double the price ($500). if you're in the ryobi ecosystem, i imagine it would be cool to have. thanks for bringing this one to my attention

Just got my Euhomy 32 qt from Amazon yesterday. Quick test : max mode bring the temp 73 to 20 in 30 minutes with 1 water bottle 17oz inside. To 17 in 3 minutes later, 15 in 3 minutes after that. If your Bougerv doesnt cool down that fast then you could get a defective one.

what is the life of these if plugged in all the time? I've been on the road a lot lately and getting tired of constantly getting ice and pouring it out when it melts. (been using a gas station styrofoam cooler)

2 years or more, assuming they stop running after warranty end

I am far from an expert with these, but make sure you don't have the air vents blocked. I had a similar issue and learned that because I had this in the back of an SUV against a sidewall, the bottom vents were partially blocked, significantly impacting the cooling (thermal switch triggering it to shut off often?).

I went out of my way to swap it for another vendor model that had the side vents towards the top instead (better design for my use) and have been much happier.

Good luck.

If only our teslas had an option for a refrigerator frunk where you can turn it on when you need it. Lol. Also be careful of blocked vents in the trunk because it can cause the unit to fail prematurely.

This seems like a decent deal though, I'm still waiting for the Ryobi 18V cooler (PI1824QBT) to go on sale. But seems unlikely given the fact that it can't even stay in stock. Using batteries makes it the best cooler for outing, especially the beach.
