Does it appear to be thick when you close the lid, does it stop the lid closing until you push it closed or does the lid simply sound like plastic on plastic?
If it is foam... the plastic line the seal touches, is it an even line mark on the seal or is there any missing line marks on the seal? (this would indicate the seal is not thick enough, and paper can slide in that area being it would be an air leak).
Thank you in advance. Picts would be fantastic in you're reply!
thx again!

And yes I understand you are supposed to pre charge and put in cold items as this maintains the temp. But sometimes on the road you put in room temp items like drinks and eventually want it nice and chilled....

the posted $200 bougerv cooler can freeze to -7℉, but doesn't heat. i believe it can also be powered by an external battery, which in total would still cost less than the makita (tool only)
the makita and bougerv aren't comparable in price or features.
i didnt know ryobi made one either. that seems more comparable to the bougerv, although it's over double the price ($500). if you're in the ryobi ecosystem, i imagine it would be cool to have. thanks for bringing this one to my attention
I went out of my way to swap it for another vendor model that had the side vents towards the top instead (better design for my use) and have been much happier.
Good luck.

This seems like a decent deal though, I'm still waiting for the Ryobi 18V cooler (PI1824QBT) to go on sale. But seems unlikely given the fact that it can't even stay in stock. Using batteries makes it the best cooler for outing, especially the beach.
