The link you provided is not the same as the deal posted. Plus the original comment only says "I've heard good things about this level"

Care to elaborate? I must have missed the boat on mind reading classes.
I believe the comment "I've heard good things..." is referring to the Huepar that the poster went on to describe and provide a link to and not to the Milwaukee. It would have been clearer if they would have had three dots or a colon before the information about the Huepar ("this level..." or "this level:") and omitted the blank line. Similarly, it sounds like you are referring to the Milwaukee when you replied "This is $15 more" instead of "That one is $15 more."

Yes, this particular Huepar 3D cross line laser is excellent. I bought it for a bit more several months ago, mainly for surveying my yard so I could improve drainage. I made a simple grade rod from a section of white plastic 1x2 trim with dimensions paint markered on. With the extra receiver ($50ish), I can easily get readings 100-200 feet away in sunlight. The rest of the kit is very well designed, and very sturdy. There's space for the receiver inside the carrying case as well. The 3D cross line feature can also be used for finding plumb. Mounts fine onto an ordinary camera tripod. This sort of tool is a game changer for so many types of projects.

Which would be what? Dentistry? Maybe it could be painting chapels? Maybe a furious armchair slick deals troll? Hard to say.

I bought a 360° Huepar for my FIL and recently borrowed it for a table project. Loved it!

One thing people should keep in mind, if you don't go with an expensive Milwaukee/DeWalt etc model that uses the battery packs you already own, you may want to get a level that is both rechargeable and takes regular batteries. That way, if you need to use the level for a long period, you can just swap out regular batteries rather than wait while it charges. A lot of models do not allow you to charge and use at the same time.

Also, if you don't own a tripod, hit up your local thrift store. There are almost always brand new or lightly used ones for $5-10.

Hanging pictures, shelving, installing studs, installing cabinets, mounting a TV.... I don't have this brand but I bought a laser level for 1 project and have used it on every project since, it makes leveling so much easier.

That being said you are paying extra for Milwaukee name with this and are better off with a huepar from Amazon for ~$40 imo
Ya, not the derail OP, but I absolutely love my Huepar 3D Cross Line Self-leveling Laser Level 3 x 360 Green Beam [amazon.com]. Bought it back in 2020 for like $165 and have used it dozens of times around the house and garage. Turns out if's 25% off too for $115 right now. I was really surprised how good the quality is of the Huepar even compared to the Dewalt I was considering.

I'm looking for a laser level and also a laser range finder. Is there a product that does both? I'd rather pay a few extra bucks than clutter my toolbox.

Here's a review for this laser plumb bob for those curious what it does. The practical use around the house is limited.
