Usually nothing for existing customers.

Cancel your service now, sign up for this deal under a different name (someone else that lives with you)

That's how I've gotten yearly deals

On Gigabit tier $70 a month with Autopay from checking. Everytime my offer runs out, something or other works out with Xfinity. If one CS doesn't help, disconnect and call again. Doing this since 10+ years. I have Verizon available in my area as well which is tad cheaper on gigabit tier, but I keep Xfinity.

Xfinity pricing is always based on the fact how much people can spend in their service area + how many other competitors are there. So lot of YMMV.

Yes, it only means they lock you into that price for 2 years, without risk of increase. You can cancel anytime. If a better deal came along, I could switch to it I presume.

Good speed. Only takes 6.66 (repeating of course) hours to exceed the 1.2 TB monthly cap.

The best thing to happen to internet in my area was TMobile Home internet. Not because that service is better, but because Xfinity finally started actually offering incentives to not cancel. For a good 5 years, without any competition, they would just allow the cancellation to go through without much fighting. I felt like Bill Murray in Stripes - I had nowhere else to go.
Do you have any experience with TMobile Home internet? I'm wondering if I should switch once comcast starts up the price creep again after my 2 years is up

Every idiot thinks they need 10gbps+ internet. I grew up with 56k, then DSL, then fiber over phone line, and now fiber over cable. There is zero practical difference once you reach 100+, even when streaming with like 5 ppl. Websites and streaming services have long capped their own bandwidth to you. Your cat videos and tiktoks will not load any faster. Most social media maxes at a paltry 720p anyway. Even the highest bandwidth streaming like GeForce now at 4k120 maxes out at 50mbps. When I had 400mbps, I could actually download FASTER than my own home wireless network to my NAS. Obviously if I had a wired connection or beefier mesh network, it would be faster, but I don't need it that fast to stream pr0n off of. The little kids wannabe geeks are always using gaming as an excuse, like they play 20 new games a month and the games update every day. You literally can't even download that much on a PS5 with the standard 1TB drive, reduced down to 800GB from system installs. My sister has 1gbps fiber and her connection is horrible because of the house she's in and her wifi network. It was as bad as a mobile connection in a remote highway. Changed the router and satellites. Now it's blazing fast. And she literally only does remote work to an ancient work computer, so even sub 100mbps would suffice. Most ppl seem to ignore things like latency, line quality, and house coverage. They just blindly think the bigger the number, the faster it is. If you actually need high bandwidth, and most importantly, high upload speeds, for work applications, you wouldn't be stupid enough to be arguing over this or trying to hassle a deal every five minutes.

Paying $30/month for 1000Mbps...deals were pretty crazy around a year and a half ago. I'm guessing I won't be able to get that deal again when my 2 years is up.

I'd probably settle for $30 for 400Mbps since I rarely tap out my connection. Well, technically I can't even tap it out since I still have 1gig ethernet equipment (even 800Mbps service would max me out). Anyway, $50 seems way too much for just 400Mbps (for a promo).

Bay Area, CA as well. That's what I get as an existing customer.

Changing it to a "new customer" will give me $60/month for 1 gig, 24 months, unlimited data + peacock
Yeah, this is what I get too when I try as a new customer. It also drops it down to $50 with your own modem.

I talked to a rep who gave me some runaround saying that offers for new customers don't work for existing customers. How hard is it to cancel and sign up under another name using the same address?

Really depends where you live.

I get like 20down/8up on my 500mbps xfinity plan that's $100+/month. It's literally awful but they have the typical monopoly here so they can charge whatever they want and under-deliver speeds.

I get 200-600down/100-200up on TMobile. It's so much better and basically free.

Unfortunately, I still have both because TMobile doesn't like to work with VPNs, which most people need to work from home. Something with NAT issues and ipv4/ipv6 stacks. Very common issue and if you use a VPN for work, TMobile likely isn't a solution for you.

But for us, Comcast sucks so bad and is literally the only "real" option...so I'm stuck with that for my work computer while we use TMobile for everything else (streaming 4+ devices, online games, tons of smart lights, cameras, etc). I figure paying a little extra per month at least allows everybody to use their tablets and computers at the same time and it's just me that has to suffer on Comcast for work Smilie

Are you confusing Stripes with An Officer and a Gentleman where he literally says "Cause I got nowhere else to go!?"

This. We live in a boring area. It's quiet but boring and as a result, hardly any competition here. The only other options are overpriced satellite and Centurylink that peaks at 5 mbps. 5!

There's no incentive for any other competition to expand to our area sadly but I'd rather not live in a big downtown. The big downtown areas get buttloads of fiber options but cost of living goes up with $200+ parking. I hate paying Xfinity but I guess I can save on other crap.

Wish I qualified. We only have two providers in the area and Xfinity is the only reliable one. Currently paying $105/Mo for 1200 Mbps. If I took a term contract I would only save 5 bucks a month downgrading to 400mbps. I would save 15 bucks a month without a term contract.

We're getting Fiber Optic from a competitor, wouldn't go back to comcast on a bet 1 gig up & down unlimited downloads (NO data cap) for $89/mo YouTubeTV and my TV needs are covered. Comcast wants $100/mo for 800 down 10 up. And only if I buy their crappy cable channel lineup too. Another $90/mo Then the misc. fees. Last bill with them was over $220/mo for internet (400/10) and basic cable (60 channels) Easy choice. They didn't even try to "retain" me as a customer.
