Usually nothing for existing customers.

Cancel your service now, sign up for this deal under a different name (someone else that lives with you)

That's how I've gotten yearly deals

On Gigabit tier $70 a month with Autopay from checking. Everytime my offer runs out, something or other works out with Xfinity. If one CS doesn't help, disconnect and call again. Doing this since 10+ years. I have Verizon available in my area as well which is tad cheaper on gigabit tier, but I keep Xfinity.

Xfinity pricing is always based on the fact how much people can spend in their service area + how many other competitors are there. So lot of YMMV.

Yes, it only means they lock you into that price for 2 years, without risk of increase. You can cancel anytime. If a better deal came along, I could switch to it I presume.

I'm a network / infra engineer. I would love to know what people with 400+ Mbps do with their connection. I locked in 2 years for $35 with Xfi Complete and get 230 up, 130 down. I have firewall, host VPN, backup to my home NAS when I'm out and I don't think I need more than my current speed.
What do you do at home, even with 5 heavy users, to justify 400+?
230 up and 130 down? LOL. Not sure where you get those numbers. I've never seen an internet provider with a faster upload than download. Definitely not Xfinity, even with the new upload speeds.

Nice, glad they are giving more competitive pricing w/o contract. I'm currently paying $40 for 400mbps w/ no contract. 2 year term as well.
If it's a two year term isn't that a contract?

Got my parents the same 400mbps w/ no contract for 2 years, but for $30/month (paperless+autopay discounts) and free HBO Max for a year. No bundles - internet only.
Anywhere with even one serious competitor makes a world of difference. Also, no data caps yet for the Atlantic/New England region(s).

If you can cancel at will without incurring any penalties, it's no contract. The 2 year term is just them agreeing not to raise the price for 2 years. It had been 1 year for most previously,at least for the recent-ish past.

Corrected. 230 down and 130 up. lol
Xfinity refused to give me anything other than XB3 so I was getting 12 Mbps up. I had speed test running from my firewall all the time and idk if that triggered something but their system automatically sent me the XB7 and upload went up to 130 Mbps. I was gonna go back to TMHI.

It's Comcast's - sorry Xfinity's - current minimum non-subsidized speed, so it's not really a matter of need or justifying.

Downloading Xbox or PC games that can be over 100GB each. Yeah, it doesn't happen everyday, but when I do download a huge game, I appreciate that I can do it in less than an hour with 800Mbps downstream bandwidth.

Yes I did this 2 years ago and I am going to do it this year. I usually call and let them know that the person/me/partner who owns the account will be moving so I want to cancel the account, and pls for them to remove the modem (since I own it directly). Pick a date for them to cancel it. Sign up for a new account/new email and set the activation date for BEFORE of the cancellation of your old account so that way you will have some overlap for any issues. I tend to set the dates to a weekend period so it doesn't disrupt my work since I am remote. When the New date gets there, call again to confirm the modem has been removed and then reactivate with new account details, modem registration etc.

My wife and I are moving in a few weeks and I already planned to put the new home in her name to take advantage of the current deals. But we use Xfinity mobile as well and I'm not sure how easy they will be for us switching multiple lines.

I vaguely remember seeing something about a rate hike months ago but my price hasn't increased. I'm also in the PNW. When I signed up it was I think a targeted price for my development (new construction home) and the normal deal was around 65.

Xfinity wants $75 for 1 gig so even if my plan goes up, no reason to switch. The only reason I might consider it is if I wanted mobile coverage too but I'm not sure if it's worth it anyways. It would effectively be $40 extra for two lines if I switched now at the low tier unlimited price ($90 total for 1 gig + 2 lines).
Century Link has no data limit and has similar down and upload speeds. For example, I have wifi 6e, and get almost 900 mbs download and around 930 upload. (940 mbs advertised maximum speed). Comcast's upload speed is around 35 mbs and has a 1.2 tb data limit. I've been with Centurylink around 3 years now and get a "loyalty" discount despite it's price increase...I pay $60.00 /month...taxes and fees included. Xfinity can't compete with that.

Last time they claimed that even though there's no contract they will still me charge me the remainder of the two years

Comcast website these days doesn't even work. For example the payment page is broken 95% of the time. The page to fill your bill is also broken like 80% of the time

Not sure if it's been said or not but OH MY GOD they will not match the new price scale if you're an existing customer. You will literally have to call, deal with their 30 minutes of bullshit to cancel, cancel AND THEN call back and sign up. This can all be done in a period of five minutes but that is the only way I could get service at the new price. It even uses all my old account details RIGHT down to assigned IP.

So dumb. I hate Comcast so much (it's all that's available) but at least I'm getting Gigabit for LESS than I was paying for 200mbps prior.
