This might be a noob question. But if someone can help me out I would appreciate it.

Currently in out skirts of Atlanta, GA. I am paying $80 right now for 100M/Bs. with renting the modem as well.

How do I go about getting this deal? Do I cancel my existing plan, return everything and just re signup? Or is there a way to transfer to this with my existing equipment?

Any help would be appreciated
if you have another adult in the household then cancel your service and have them sign up.

can someone explain WHY would someone need 400mbps for everyday use? it's Bisard and insane unless you're downloading heavy files or p0rn on regular bases

I am paying $10/mo for xfinity 75mbps and $10/mo for xfinity 200mbps at another home and its same experience.

You shouldn't have to pay $50/mo to watch netflix 4k or facebook.com

Rather invest in a GOOD router that will support those speeds thru out the house and multiple devices.

this advice is free and you're welcome!
I can ASSURE you it certainly isn't for aquiring media so i don't have to subscribe to 10 billion different f'n streaming services making my bill the same amount that I cut cable for 10+ years ago. NO siree-bob.

Thanks, OP!
I totally forgot to check the status of my current promo.
Of course, it expired last month, so I am paying $30 more this past statement.
Was able to get 800 mbps back to $65 ($5 more) with Change Plan deals.

Anyone have luck getting Xfinity to back date/credit the difference if they missed the expiration of the last promo pricing?

Before you cancel service be sure to see if you have a cancellation penalty.

To check for deals, I logged into my account.
I clicked CHANGE PLAN.
And the internet pricing came up.
I signed up for the 800 mbps for $65 with bank pay. It was $70 with credit card pay.
I only do internet with them and their free Flex box, which I don't use. Just too lazy to say no and then have to return.

I"m currently at $60 for 400 mpbs.. which is the "fast". so if I get bored I'll see if can get on the new rate with limited hassle

for new customers in my area it's only $50 for 400mbps. so not worth the savings if i have to switch to a different name.. and even have 1 hour of downtime..

I thought about switching to gig for a different provider for $70 , but they seem to have lots of outages. and that's a non starter for WFH jobs..
For me, I stream a lot and my son games, so I spend the extra $5/mo for the 800 mbps otherwise, I'd lower my cost to the 400 mbps. All this telecom cost is crazy when you factor in how much you're paying in 10 years and 20 years time.

There is no guarantee this deal is applicable in your market, so understand that first and foremost. Second, if you're paying $80 for 100mbps, you absolutely need to repackage your services. I have gig service, and am "outside" Atlanta, and don't even pay that much.

Xfinity allows you to repackage your services online now so log in and see what options it gives you. I found it still wasn't that great (I have 3 services, vs. Internet only) for me so instead I went to an Xfinity store and was able to get my 3 services to $220/mo whereas online was about $40 more. Being internet only (i'm assuming), you may have an easier time repackaging.

Dont't even need to do that. I canceled my services and signd up online LITERALLY two minutes later using the same name. They pulled my "old" account and welcomed me back. Did a self install that wasn't working, so had to call 1800comcast, went to New Service queue, spoke to an agent and explained what happened (he actually laughed and said well done), and then he took my MAC address and got my modem back online.

All said and done I was without service for about 20 minutes.

To check if you can get this deal go to www.comcast.com. [com.] Click Internet drop down, go to Internet Deals, click on Shop Now. Type your address into the address bar. It will detect you have service at this address already, click on the "I'm moving here " option and view deals. Click internet and it should show you all the "New Customer" pricing plans.

Gaming, lag is a killer specially if you have to share bandwidth with 4k video and HiFi music streaming.

On Gigabit tier $70 a month with Autopay from checking. Everytime my offer runs out, something or other works out with Xfinity. If one CS doesn't help, disconnect and call again. Doing this since 10+ years. I have Verizon available in my area as well which is tad cheaper on gigabit tier, but I keep Xfinity.

Xfinity pricing is always based on the fact how much people can spend in their service area + how many other competitors are there. So lot of YMMV.
If you have FIOS, use it. Why would you muck around with a modem. You should check to see if the grass is greener on the other side

What type of information do they require? Like SSN# etc.,?
In my experience, just a different name. If I recall correctly, I've used the same email address to resign-up
