Not even sure if this is super slick or semi-slick, and I don't need this at all. Yet…resisting the lure of a festool track saw may prove to be too much for me

Definitely up for debate. It's just a rarity to see anything from festool actually on sale

Yep.. With the Milwaukee M18 version out now, that one seems like a much better option overall because the M18 battery platform has a lot more useful tools available - not to mention the fact that it's one of the best track saws available. Festool's 18V lineup is extremely limited by comparison.

Agreed that it's super rare to see a deal on new Festool stuff, but festoolrecon.com has refurbished tools at decent discounts all the time. They only sell one item at a time but if you're patient you can usually find what you want. There's been a handful of different corded and cordless track saws since I found it ~6 months ago.

Somewhat unrelated, just wanted to toss it out there for those not aware.

The price on festoolrecon for TSC 55 KEBI-F-Plus is the same $662.15. It is better to buy a new one and get a full warranty.
