Be warned: this game is so good that it will kind of ruin most other VR shooters for you. Buy this now, but knock out any backlog you have before playing this, then savor every second of it.

Also wanted to say that this is an awesome game, one of the best vr games. I don't think you have to have Virtual Desktop anymore. Quest 2 comes with quest link or air link now. It might be easier than going through hassle of buying and connecting virtual desktop. Just make sure your PC is powerful enough to run it.

Another game that I couldn't recommend enough for those looking for great vr experiences is modded out skyrim vr. With all the great mods for it like haptic feedback, picking stuff up, visual quality mods, it is an unbelievably great vr world/experience.

Holy yes, I just finally got my MQ2 today because of the CostCo deal after wanting it for years, and I was waiting for this to go on sale but figured I missed out since it would've been a Summer Sale type promo.

It works, but you really shouldn't. The game has many VR specific mechanics that just wouldn't work on a flat screen.

Probably because it's too costly and nobody in their right mind really works on VR content due to the extremely limited market.

Which is unfortunate, because I love VR and want to see it flourish!!!

Very true, and Valve was trying to sell their own VR set so I think they felt they needed a killer app. And Alyx certainly fits the bill! I played this with Virtual Desktop on my QUEST 1 and it was fantastic. A little laggy, but for the most part very, very playable. May be time to reinstall!

This is THE signature VR game. However I do wonder about Valve's decision to make it a horror game. It is scary as hell. Like give you a heart attack scary. I have only got as far as the JEFF level. Then I quit. I cant finish it. Its too intense for me.

Why in the world VALVE didnt make something Portal themed is beyond me. Or at least have it more like a classic Half Life.

In my opinion this game and the Galaxies Edge Star Wars game, are the two signature VR games.

I have a LOT of VR games but most are pretty poor. They can be fun yes. But the quality is just bad. And the price point is stupid high.

Virtual desktop works best for me on Oculus, even though it has built in wireless, the virtual works even better than the wired connection. I have no clue why that is.

If you need it get the knock off Oculus wire on Amazon. The brand name one is like 3-4x the cost.
