bought 2 jvc roku tvs exactly 1 year and 3 months ago.. both died within the same month.

Damn! I have opposite experience. I got it from a deal here on May 1st last year for the same price and had no issue. I did get 5 years warranty though.

both died around 15 months, and they were in 2 different homes!

I got the same deal (I think), mine developed issues within six months, I contacted them, and was able to get a replacement (2023 model I assume), since then, I haven't noticed any problems. I got an extended warranty as well. Their customer service can be a little bit of a hassle, but all-in-all, wasn't the worst (the worst customer service I've experienced would be Best Buy).

I have a QLED version of this TV which I got for around the same price. It is a decent TV for guest bedroom or for Kids.

Side note: I nominate Cox for the Worst Customer Service award, followed by Verizon. Of course this is my opinion only. Okay, back to TVs and this deal (which is still available). Smilie

JVC hasn't made TVs in years. What a lot of companies do is license the rights to use their name - Philips, RCA, Sharp, Westinghouse, etc. JVC is currently made in China by Shenzhen MTC.
