Thx OP... good timing... have a house under construction and slowly working through a bit of forest to clear our view. Did all I could with loppers, but lots of 1 to 2" white birch saplings that need to be cleared.

I have a Greenworks 19 inch push mower that I use around the garage and areas the tractor (gas powered) doesn't go, and a Greenworks edger / weed wacker. All use the same batteries as this chainsaw and I've had good luck with them this season and last season, so far so good - I'm impressed with how well they have replaced gas powered equipment. At this point I'm going to pick up any other Greenworks deals that I might use with this battery system. I'm hoping for a rototiller before next Spring on a good sale. No explosions yet.

I'm in the 80v line. I like all 16" chainsaw, 21" push mower and leaf blower. Depending on what lineup you start with and feel we be the most useful for your needs; I'd probably go with the bigger lineup.

If this needs 2 batteries to operate, that's not ideal. If one goes bad or isn't charged you wouldn't be able to use your tool. Seems odd to need 2 of them to use the tool.

The integrated USB ports I see on the battery is a great idea though.

One thing to take notice of on the chainsaw is the tension nuts. On mine and others I have read, they can work themselves loose due to vibration. This looks like a similar design as the 80v and could be an issue too.

I'm pretty much done with gas tools unless it's needed for a larger job or endures greater stress on the machine.

My 16" cut down several trees this spring. Couple big ones I had to cut from both sides. Was surprised what my amateur self was able to accomplish. I had a couple misjudgements, but I was in the woods, so mistakes weren't gonna cause damage to property or anything.
----
I'd hop on one of the gas tillers deals from Home Depot. Depending on the size you plan to till up, but I'd use that over a battery one for sure if you have the need. I have a gas tiller adapter for my Husqvarna weed Wacker. But I wouldn't want to use that for something more than a couple rows. Just takes too long, especially if the ground is hard or not broken up already.

EGO is the flagship brand of battery operated homeowner grade tools. The deal you are talking about was on Woot and sold out in about an hour. That was a much better deal for a much better tool.

I have the one battery version of this Greenworks chainsaw.

My chainsaw is underpowered and does not cut many logs before the battery runs out. I would not buy my chainsaw again.

I have both EGO and Greenworks Pro, Greenworks makes better tools and batteries. This thing is odd because it's 2x24 volt, dual batteries needed to run it. The price cannot be beat, 3 Camels doesn't even register it this low.

But I can't pile up more middle of the road tools, and will spend a bit more to get the greenworks pro 80v with the 8 year costco warranty, the next time they go on deep discount or clearance. I scored the 80V blower at their ".97" priced clearance with a battery and charger end of last season for $180. Hoping the chainsaw does the same.

Thanks, pricematched with Target and got it, had some giftcards from 10% off sale lying around and hence used it to buy one.

I don't really need a chainsaw right now, but this deal feels it is worth it just for the batteries and the charger! Can someone validate this assumption? I have other greenworks equipment that use 24v batteries (lawn mower, blower, weedcutter) and was looking to buy extra batteries at some point.
I recently bought a single family home and i have trees and plants on my property. I feel like I will be able to use chainsaw for something.. maybe more than for just trees and plants!

Thoughts?

Edit: the equipment i have uses 24 v 5.0Ah batteries. Will the batteries on this deal work with it?
