The cpu/mb/ram combo is selling at $330 at microcenter. The video card is $240. 3 fan rgb Case+ 650 watt psu+512 gig nvme+ windows 11 $100-$150. Not bad at all.
I bought this a couple days ago.

The RAM they put in there is gone / discontinued so if you want to upgrade the RAM you're not going to be able to add you will have to replace all of it. There are 2 open slots - I reached out to the company that makes it and they gave me a 3 page explanation on what to do in order to add two more sticks.. It's easier just to replace it all.

There is an extra m.2 slot sort of under the graphics card but accessible.

Mine had a s570 Wd nvme in it. I assume they all do.

It looks great. I'm a pretty casual gamer so I have no idea about frames or any of that.

I will say the 6650xt is damn near the top of the performance to cost chart which I really really like.

Also mine shipped with bad drivers for the 6650xt so it was deactivated when I turned it on the first time. Super easy fix just go to amds website and set up the right driver but it was a little odd.

It's a phat pc. Very wide and short. I like it.

The RGB fans are huge and gorgeous and the CPU fan has a very nice style to it.
Very good budget 1080p gaming pc. The v-cache will help a lot at 1080p since it's more cpu bound than higher resolutions. 6650xt is also a very capable 1080p card as well. Here's the build priced out: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8swMfv Psu is a placeholder and the mobo isn't the exact one used, but it's close enough.

Keep in mind that this is false for any software that is properly multithreaded.

The "3D" cache will often go unused and you simply end up with a lower clocked 5600.

Just something to consider based on the games you play and the other applications you plan to run.

Which one will you guys choose? This one or the refurbished lenovo below?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/155632222694?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11051.m43.l1123&mkcid=26&ch=osgood&euid... [ebay.com]

Probabaly can get lenovo $610 before tax combing discount and giftcard. But it's refurbished and power only has 500w. Lenovo has extra 1tb HDD though, and ironically it has 2 yrs warranty vs the PowerSpec one only has 1 year.

And the part combo actually makes sense. This should be a great little 1080p machine (or even 1440 if you are playing older stuff or don't mind going a bit below 60fps) with the bonus of doing extra well in cache-heavy stuff like 4x/simulations.

Buy PC, sell 6650xt and put that towards an even better GPU and you can run 1440p on this with a 6800+

And that list doesn't even include the Windows license and each part is warrantied separately when you DIY, so this pre-built is probably a better value for that reason alone.

Edit: It also comes with a keyboard and mouse, so you'd have to factor in that cost as well.

While I'm all for building your own PC, you can clearly see that the three downvotes were hardcore "omg, built it or forget it!" folk.

It is bad because you lose the individual warranty on the parts and only get the 1 year powerspec warranty. The 5600x3d also isnt a good value for its MSRP, youd be better getting a 13th gen bundle or Zen 4 which both are available at MC basically weekly.

Also the 650w PSU, 500GB SSD, high latency DDR4, micro-atx case are all not exactly upgrade friendly. They are cheap parts that are worthless if you ever want to upgrade or rebuild.

Yes, but look up the value of a used 650w PSU, used 500GB SSD, used case, used low quality DDR4, they are worthless. If you tried to sell this for parts tomorrow, you'd only be able to sell the CPU, motherboard and GPU, and scrape together like $350, in 5 years that value will be even lower.

The same holds true for literally anything you buy, whats your point? For somebody who does not know how to or just doesnt want to build, this pc is a decent buy. I hate that companies cheap out on the ssd, but thankfully you can get 2tb m.2's for $70 now.

Get this. Better CPU and GPU with a 650w unit. Can upgrade the GPU down the line.
