Great little handheld. I picked one up for a little less than this a few months back and have been enjoying it almost daily at work. I upgraded to a 128GB SD card (picked up a Samsung for $10 on Prime Day), changed the OS, and added thousands of games. With the exception of 1 or 2 games, everything has run smoothly, even the PS1 games.

Now I'm considering upgrading to a more powerful handheld that'll run DC and Wii games. But this is still a great introductory handheld for getting into the hobby.

Shop for anything with a t618 chipset. I paid $115 for powkiddy x18s black but I'd recommend the retroid pocket 3+ or anbernic rg505 or rg405 around $160(in hindsight I'd spend more for better build) if you want to spend more get a steam deck

Used Pixel 7 is $350, Kishi is $93. You're well into Steam Deck territory. Although with the Pixel 7 you also get a great phone.
So you dont have a phone? Any android+iphone should work.

Samsung Galaxy S21 (~$200 used, so no Pixel 7 power!). I've not tried any emulation on it. I should give it a shot. It is a lot to setup though.

alright guys this is your chance to get the hottest selling ANBERNIC device !!!
then google reddit r/RG35XX for all the info on how to run this and not pay or buy a premade SD card from ebay or anywhere else

Enjoy like I have
Is it necessary to buy a pre-made SD card, don't these come with pre-installed games? I ordered 128 gb miyoo mini plus which says 25k games although I'd expect repeats or not all to work

I used to run emulator on S8...no problem at all.

What do u mean setup? There are lots of android emulator store apps. You just pick a game and click play.

How does this compare to the miyoo mini plus?
They're pretty similar. The Ambernic has a HDMI out (I think it's mini or micro, not full size) and you can also connect wired USB controllers. The Mini+ has slightly better button feel according to reviews, and wifi which lets you update it wirelessly, and also play link games (if you're using Onion.) (Edit: the fragile screen reports are mostly for the miyoo mini, not the plus.)

Actual performance is pretty similar between the 2. Snes, Genesis and GB Advance play great, and might be able to enable rewind (depends on the game.) PlayStation is ok too, but games are much bigger and I don't like the early 3d graphics compared to sprites. N64 games are into "iffy" territory, and it doesn't have an analog stick.

Putting Onion or Garlic os on either of them is pretty straightforward, then get the tiny best rom set from the internet archive and have fun.

Negative Ghost Rider. This is not powerful enough to run that game.
Sure looks like they are trying to give that impression it does with the picture of what it is playing

I was in that predicament last month and went with the Miyoo after watching a few different youtube videos. Definitely watch for yourself but the big things for me were size (Miyoo is smaller, same screen size) and has a better D pad. I actually just bought a second one the other day for like $35 on Temu

Thoughts on this vs R351V and the R353V? It seems like the main difference is the number of joysticks, 0, 1, and 2 respectively.
I went with the 351v. There's a 500gb build that is specific for that device. And oh dear Jesus, the hyperspin build for it is awesome. I didn't feel like configuring anything so I had to go with the 351v.

I tried using that build in a 353v but with the dual boot android, it didn't work. didn't feel like messing with it so sent it back and got the 351. works like a charm.

I bought miyo mini plus 128gb off aliexpress, 5 day USA shipping from seller. Shipped out of Southern California and should arrive by Tuesday. It'll be my first emulation handheld. I paid around $71 after tax and used a promo code. my only concern is some reviews say the genetic SD card is bad and may fail at some point. May need to somehow copy the games and transfer it to another card
I was a first timer as well and have been having fun tinkering with it. You should buy a new SD card for it which should run like 10-15 bucks plus a card reader for your computer if you don't have one. From there it's just picking an operating system and then downloading a tiny best set - there's plenty of instructional videos on youtube to help!

A Gameboy with improved screen and built in games. Imagine buying this in the 80s and 90s. Would be amazing lol. I have an rpi3b+, nvidia shield and various mini consoles and Nintendo switch online that has some retro game options. But this seems like a fun option to try. I've wasted $70 on worst things. Yes could use a cellphone for emulators but that also takes time to set it up. This is immediate pickup and play
