I have the S750H and it's good. For sure not a powerhouse for less efficient speakers, but 95% of people don't need that.
The AVR remote app is really good and it's streaming capabilities are excellent.
Audyssey XT32 is the best room correction suite available and I've tried literally all of them.
I definitely agree Audyssey's XT32(especially with their Editor app) is very good.
I'm not sure I agree it's the best room correction suite available.
There are several others that are at least as good but often considered better.
They are on much higher end products that you don't often see in here.
One of them has been the big rage here in the last year or so, is Dirac.

The best available would fall to Trinnov IMO.
I've owned 2 Dirac devices: an Anthem and a MiniDSP unit. Both times I preferred the Denon and Audysey 32 to the Dirac units. This is using pre-outs into very nice amplifiers and speakers.
I haven't used Trinnov, but DSP isn't just about benchmarks, it's about install, maintenance, and ease of use/flexibility. Nothing touches Audysey that exists in any real retail market.

I also have experience with all of them and you are correct proper implementation is critical for optimal performance.
This model is available at Costco for an additional $85 brand new ( There's a $70 rebate going on untill 8/21 ) . For the additional price ,you get a new unit and Costco's return policy + new Warranty https://www.costco.com/denon-avr-...74339.html

As far as best available RC, it's Trinnov!
