I haven't figured out how to make my 2nd/upper "broom stick" levitate at the top of the door so I'll be using these at the top ;-D

I have a 3-panel door that has 2 panels that slide to the inside of opened from the left or two panels that slide to the outside of opened from the right. Broomsticks are a false hope for me

Not when you cut them down to use as a door stop.

The answer to that question is in the title of this post, and the title of the product.

It's basically the same thing as a sliding latch you'd see on a normal door, just located in a different spot that prevents the door from being slid open.

For less than $2, is it worth it to even try?

I'd be afraid of screwing anything to the sliding panel because of the risk of damaging the glass.
