Put the tester in regular outlets wired downstream from a GFCI outlet. Press the test button on the tester to see if these outlets will trip the upstream GFCI outlet in case of a ground fault. The test button on the upstream GFCI outlet can only test whether that specific outlet will trip after a ground fault.

It can be handy for testing polarity, but I'm not sure about the GFCi function. Don't all GFCI outlets have the test button? What else does this offer?

trying to save a couple dollars off from a tester so you can pay hundreds to the electrician who would need a 10 min work.

These are (should be) much more sensitive than the built-in test buttons. I've had inspections fail when the test button seemed to work, but the inspector's GFCI tester wouldn't trip it.

valid question. they should make it illegal to name their brand with these terms. very misleading.

lifetime isnt life time. commercial isnt for commercial. offlease only where they sell no offlease cars. hardware only sell software boxes. bella pro got nothing pro related.

As an electrician I have like 10 of these things…they're all the same long as they have gfci tester..there's better for the same$ or less

Multiple receptacles can be run through the same GFCI, or the GFCI can be at the breaker itself. It keeps you from having to run around and figure out how the electric was run.
