Good write up but you should not be deducting the shop card from the cost, which is still 60 dollars and not 15.

No you can't, only if your account is already expired before March 31, 2023

Have someone else signup (spouse, significant other) and put them as primary and yourself as secondary (domestic) and it will work. As long as the primary hasn't had a membership recently.

More info please … are you saying every single time you place an online order you have to verify identity? Also this still applies even after you go to store show identification, get membership card and try and place an online order after?

Costco's disgusting treatment of their customers has turned me off of shopping there. I went from loving Costco to not even wanting to walk through their doors. The harassment of customers to show ID is disgusting. I watched a little old lady in her 80s in front of me get harassed to show her ID while waiting in line. Meanwhile my local Sam's has been treating people like kings, not even asking for ID when you walk in the door. Also the whole ID thing at the door makes no sense, in many states including mine, if you sell alcohol by law you have to let anyone in so legally they cannot deny entry even if you are not a member. I used to go to Costco at least once a week and since they started their gestapo tactics I have been there once in two months. Sam's and Amazon etc get my money now. There's a Reddit thread on their treatment of customers lately and it is horrible to read. They need to fire the people that made this boneheaded decision to harass customers.

That's actually not true. My friend who is an attorney and actually reads the contracts years ago showed that the agreements retailers signed regarding credit cards was that they could not in fact ask for ID if the card was not reported stolen or anything. He actually carried around a copy of the agreement to show anyone that challenged it. People just assume that they have to show ID and don't challenge it but that's actually not true, at least it wasn't back then. Liquor stores and bars are required to ask for ID because of state laws, Costco is under no such obligation to do so other than if you buy something that falls under state law ID requirements like alcohol. What people think is the law and what is actually the law are often two very different things.

I had not received the $45 gift card after about a week. Reached out to Costco support and they told me when the sent it (with 2 days of placing my order). I check my SPAM folder and, sure enough, it was there. None of the other emails from Costco went to SPAM and so I did really look there.
