Note that you'll pay a lot more than $84 total. There's also a "resort fee" and then of course the taxes and fees. I think my wife booked a night closer to $130. Not a bad deal for 4 people to get into a waterpark for two days and have a hotel room.
We have visited the PA one almost 1x per year. We just went about a month ago and I will admit the "feeling" isn't the same. For instance, the main lobby had a very cozy feeling with sofas and decorations for the seasons. Now, it's just an emtpy space. The resort also removed all microwaves in the rooms (probably to force people to just buy more food) with one per floor in the ice machine room. Even though the focus isn't to use the microwave much, it was PITA to walk over to the room with the microwave and wait for others to finish using it.

The Arcade also used to be kid friendly so kids could have fun winning "something" here and there. Now, everything is extremely rigged to "maybe" payout like 1x every 30+ plays. In other words, even though the kids would want to go to the arcade, I would avoid it completely. Not to mention, the cost per gameplay is ridiculous. I think it comes to like 2 to 3 dollars PER play...

Regarding this 84 per night gimmick, I've tried and no joke, but the days where the 84 applies are the most obscure days during the week and it's only a few days here and there. So if you are planning for a weekend trip, don't expect much.

As many have mentioned, those resort fees do hit hard. Even though the amenities might not add up to the total fee amount, make sure to get those headband ears. Might not be worth the 30+ you pay per night, but it's something lol.

Overall, it can still be a worthwhile trip since if the cost of an entrance to most parks are about 30 to 40 per person. If a family of 4 goes for a day, it comes out to about the same while also including a night to sleep in.
Also, if you are interested, Groupon usually has sales on this place as well too, and theirs include 6 passes (instead of the standard 4, and each extra is $50). It maybe cheaper if you are going with a larger party to do via groupon instead.

We just got back from new one outside Baltimore today and the fees really piled up. $39.99 resort fee per day plus 6% state tax and another 6% county tax. We have been to others and the rooms vary even when the names are the same. Our kids cabin that had 4 beds and a pullout had one sink, in the front hall with none in the bathroom. We also had the hallway microwave shared by the whole floor. Just some things to dig into when booking for those unfamiliar. The park was great for the kids and activities crazy expensive with long waits as expected but the fees and room design choices did catch us off guard a bit.

For anyone who's already been to one of these, is 2-4 too young for kids to enjoy it?

What's the catch? Bed bugs??
Some reviews about the Manteca location mention bed bugs and weed smoke in the building. I already know the region and would never consider going. Lots of unsavory types galore, all around. People can't act right anymore anywhere. It's already bad enough simply grocery shopping.

I think 6-8 is ideal but there is plenty for a 4 year old to do assisted.

Parking fee? There's no fee for the San Francisco location.

Are people's expectations that skewed? We've been to the Manteca (CA) location a couple times with my family of four. With this sale, you are paying roughly $140 after fees for 2 days at a waterpark and a night of hotel. Honestly one night is good enough for us. Accepting the fact that it's so cheap, then you go in having expectations that there may be more people on your dates, but it was still reasonable the times we went. The parking lot seems fairly safe, but I would still use common sense and not leave valuables visible. Pretty standard stuff nowadays. Food at the resort isn't great, so if you are willing to drive a few minutes you have plenty of local options in the area.

Now hopefully the bed bugs aren't an issue, cuz that would be a deal breaker for me. Good luck.

I noticed Manteca wasn't on the OPs list, curious if it's just out of date or not included in this promo.
