The Arcade also used to be kid friendly so kids could have fun winning "something" here and there. Now, everything is extremely rigged to "maybe" payout like 1x every 30+ plays. In other words, even though the kids would want to go to the arcade, I would avoid it completely. Not to mention, the cost per gameplay is ridiculous. I think it comes to like 2 to 3 dollars PER play...
Regarding this 84 per night gimmick, I've tried and no joke, but the days where the 84 applies are the most obscure days during the week and it's only a few days here and there. So if you are planning for a weekend trip, don't expect much.
As many have mentioned, those resort fees do hit hard. Even though the amenities might not add up to the total fee amount, make sure to get those headband ears. Might not be worth the 30+ you pay per night, but it's something lol.
Overall, it can still be a worthwhile trip since if the cost of an entrance to most parks are about 30 to 40 per person. If a family of 4 goes for a day, it comes out to about the same while also including a night to sleep in.

Good share and exactly what we need, a plan for a trip away as the weather starts to get cold (Midwest).
Trying to understand if this is an in general problem industrywide or GWL is particularly bad at managing it.
If it is bad everywhere, then it is more of a call to take whether taking young kids to water parks for fun is worth it or no.
Thanks and reps.
$84 per adult for both lodging and water play? How much for kids? What is included in the lodging (like food is inclusive)?
CONS:
The check-in process was ridiculous.
The water is filled with urine and fecal matter (which is why it's over chlorinated)
The park hits you with expensive resort fees and daily parking fees, so an $84 room is really closer to $250.
The staff you may think are lifeguards are not real lifeguards, DO NOT expect them to save a drowning child.
GWL has one of the most expensive Arcades I've ever seen. A majority of the games were close to $1 to play.
If you do not return a pool towel your room is charged a fee.
PROS:
They allow you to bring outside food.
Kids love water parks…even if you tell them they're swimming in sewage.
PRO TIP:
If you go to the Anaheim location, there are several good restaurants within a 5 mile radius, do not settle for the terrible GWL food.
Nickel Arcade is walking distance, all games are .05 cents.

It's a hotel - yes there's taxes and fees, I don't know why everyone is surprised by this. Some charge parking.
It's a public water park full of kids - there's definitely urine in the water. No different than any public pool or water park.
It's a theme park - yes there's stuff there that costs more money. Their average food is overpriced. It's not a Costco food court. Not a surprise. The pizza at the one I went to was pretty good though, I would get it again. You can leave and come back to get food elsewhere if there's options, it's not a prison.
If you have kids that love the water park and you stay at the water park you don't pay anything extra.
And now for some information you'll really find useful - Remember on water slides - keep your back and buttocks up, just touch at your feet and shoulders and you'll go faster. You're welcome.
