I've had this for a couple of years now and I use it as both a fire pit and grill! It works very well. I bought it for $199 from REI. However, after a few years of use I believe that it is over priced even at $160. I do recommend the product!

Note that this does not come with the carry case. Your trunk will be very ashy without it.

Costco had these on clearance last year for $100, which was a steal. I like it quite a lot and actually prefer it over other smokeless options due to the fact that you can actually see through the sides to see the wood burning, more like an open fire pit. Never cared for the enclosed smokeless pits that much since, while they do a great job of being smokeless, don't actually have the feel of a campfire since you can't really see the wood burning unless you really add a ton of wood. I bought the carrying case and it's very nice. My only concern is how well the Biolite will hold up after years of use since it is enameled steel.

These were much higher priced during the rei annual sale, good deal. I bring mine camping, you can add the cast iron griddle built for these and not worry about the charcoal dying, then remove and lower to start your fire. The grating can rust at least in the original one so after 4 years I'm in for a replacement although mine is still working fine otherwise.

Did you ever run into issues with the battery pack?

I'm not really interested in buying the product but I'm really surprised to see they attached a lithium ion battery to the side of a fire pit. That seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

No battery issue after a few years of use. Pretty solid design.

I usually split chunky firewood into thinner pieces for bigger open flame.

Have been a happy customer for last 2 years. Surprisingly enough, the heat is kept away from the pack.

What do you think would be the most reasonable price for this? Is it big enough for people to gather around?

My chiminea broke recently and I need some kind of replacement fire pit for my back yard.

No issues here and I actually really the product myself. I've owned both the Firepit and the Firepit+.

This, being the latter, is the updated version which is better paint quality (the previous version would rust with use), better mesh (the last one didn't bother me but this seems to allow better airflow), and bigger battery (I can attest to the longer battery times).

This was going for 210 during the REI Annual sale and many years back (2019 I think) the original FIrepit sold at REI for 160. For 160 and the latest version, I wouldn't hesitate and would get it.

It's been super convenient on camping trips, especially in wet damp environments and even cooking, it's been pretty easy to use. I've done burgers, stakes, skewers, and even cast iron cooking with no issues.

The only areas of improvement or tips I would say are:
- Empty out the ashes, if you leave them be too long, it'll clog up the bottom vent
- I think the lower basket level is too low for charcoal, bring it up for charcoal cooking use
- The basket gaps are also a little bit too big for anything smaller than a bricket, to fix this, I bought some steel mesh (the ones used for KBBQ or veggie grilling) cut them down to size and overlaid the basket. I can now use lump charcoal, including the smaller bits and pieces without them fall through and going to waste.

Don't worry about the battery, it doesn't get hot near that area with the air flow and distance

A lithium ion powered Bluetooth enabled fire pit is surely a sign that we've strayed too far from God's light.

This is one of those "last thing I need is another..." (e.g. knives, gloves, shoes) for me, but all these positive reviews make it tempting! Wink
