We would never travel with it, would probably use it on our Trex deck but it looks like they make a mat just for that (to reflect heat). I'm really tempted to try this one out.
- Portable fire pit/grill
- Have a small space at home and want to set up a fire pit here and there
Some people will joke that the battery power is unnecessary, but the powered fan helps reduce the amount of smoke. It also makes it so you can control the temp of the grill better. The coal/wood tray also is pretty nice because it can hang slightly higher on hooks, or sit on the base of the pit directly (or one on the hook and one on the base), which provides you varying heat which is useful for cooking. My typical usage is to set it up, grill up some food (Korean short ribs, steaks, yakitori, whatever), then after I'm done I'll throw in a log and enjoy the fire.
The only negative thing I have to say about this is I wish the fire pit was a bit bigger. It can only fit a few tiny logs or a giant one.
My chiminea broke recently and I need some kind of replacement fire pit for my back yard.
unless it's a backyard the size of postage stamp.

I use it to grill all the time and occasionally have a little campfire.
It speeds up the process for charcoal big time.

Honestly 100 years ago people were probably using powered fans* for many types of fires but the idea of computers was not even fathomable.
*The Bluetooth part seems a little silly though.
