Ps4 pro still going strong and collecting dust lol. I would've gotten ps5 long ago if not for shipment and stock delays, but kinda lost interest eventually and if a ps5 pro/slim on the way, might as well wait a bit longer. Although if the 20% target circle discount + 5% discount birthday promo applies to ps5 orders that have shipping, it may be hard to pass up

Look for the Pro around this time next year up through the holiday season. The new Nintendo probably hits next year's holiday season too. Supposedly, Microsoft isnt planning a Pro model or anything of that sort.

I think Sony is a trash company and treats their PS players like shit but "Plays these shortage games" is idiotic. Pandemic snarled the supply chain and there has been a shortage on all PC parts for years that is only recently reversing. Sony definitely didn't enjoy watching 3rd party resellers capture value by selling way above MSRP because they had so little supply to meet demand. That was all money they left on the table. This isn't fashion, there is no benefit to Sony to limiting supply like their is for a Jordan.

The console was selling out faster than it was possible to restock. There was nothing Sony could do about that. People act like it's their fault that their product is that high in demand.

I have an unopened GameCube platinum from 2007 in my closet. Maybe it'll be worth something eventually considering the revival of retro games. I remember contacting DK oldies about selling it several years ago an was offered $100 or something. Currently they sell refurbished for $300, so it's good I passed.

They will sell the launch fat consoles (like this one) until they run out and just turn the new unit into the full price SKU

I don't think there's going to be a slim, though I wish there was.

Consensus is that a Pro version will be released in late 2024 which supports 8k, improved RT, etc.

Not much interest at my busy Target store: I was the only one that bought it: stock still shows the same amount as yesterday in the middle of the night when I bought mine. Nobody is excited to buy this... I checked inventory at other stores: maybe just 1 or 2 units gone. Interesting...

You really don't need to get a top of the line Nvidia card to get a good gaming experience. I bought my 5700XT for $130 (granted it is used) which is comparable to what the PS5 has it in now. It varies for what you need. I game at 1080p so this will be good enough.
