Gift card can only be spent at apple and if you don't plan on buying anything else there besides the iPad then there is no point for the gift card.

How on earth are they still selling 64 GB iPads? After iOS, how much free space do you even have?

I'm pretty sure iOS eats around 20GB. I wouldn't get a 64GB device unless you only plan to use a few apps and not store media.

The gift card is also good for iCloud subscriptions and iTunes purchases. Many will pay for iCloud, as you only get 5GB of cloud storage free.

I'm still doing all right with an 8th gen 32 gb model. I don't really store media on it but have lots of streaming apps. Only time space is an issue is for os upgrades, they require a ton of free space, but you can do them via USB to a Mac without space requirements
