These add 2 inches to my height! Too bad they don't add 2 inches elsewhere…

The thick cushion would make these fine for walking. These have a low heel to toe offset, so your calves may do a bit more work than you're used to. The waterproofing may make these hot to wear, but if you are treading through creeks and such, you may find it worth it. That patch of no rubber on the mid foot portion of the outsole seems a bit strange for a trail shoe, but it's not a Speedgoat.

Besides the free return, I need half size up from 12. 12.5, which the Rack currently doesn't have.

Lol, maybe it was the first sales rep. I did send her the link to this forum thread, saying other people had gotten the match. They need to keep their policy consistent.
I didn't want to spend a lot for my first pair of "serious" walking/running shoes. The average price of these type of shoes are in the $150-$250 range. Not cheap.

FYI, I'm glad I listened to everyone saying to go 1/2 size up. Got the 12.5 D men size today. Even this size was a bit tight. Excited to give them a try.
