I mean if one really can't afford it the it is better than not working out but if one can spend even just a little more than there are many good ones out there cap, xmark etc.

Some good mentions here https://www.reddit.com/r/homegym/...under_150/

Also I am huge fan for Rogue Bonyeard barbells. The best thing of Rogue is high quality and they hold their price in used market pretty well. You will have really hard time even selling the barbell in this set for 50.

About time things are under $1/lb. Best deal is the 210lb set on a $/lb perspective. Don't know if the bar is work the extra $70 they're charging.

The bar is shit. Save that 70 and get a cap barbell at the very least or there are better barbells for 150 to 200. Barbell is the most important piece of equipment don't cheap out on it. Weights are weights.

That bad? Even if keeping it under 300lbs?

Co-sign. I didn't do my research and snagged the bar along with the 370 pounds of plates. It's not the worst bar I've ever used but it's close lol. It'll function while I save up for a new one though.

As for the plates, they've been excellent so far. No complaints there and by far the cheapest set I could find new or used.

Finally starting to build a home gym. This is a great deal and I went in for the 260 set bc I'm weak.

Rogue frequently has their Echo bar in their Boneyard section for $165. If you're patient and can pick one up at that price, I don't think you're going to get a better value.

Couple bar recommendations for below $150:
BalanceFrom $79 bar at Walmart. Minimum viable product, expect compromises but it will work.

Papababe bar on Amazon for $129. Frequently has coupons/discounts. What I recommend for the average person. Lots of bang for the buck.

I bought their barbell for $30 from Walmart. It's pretty bad, but at $30 I can accept that but $70 is expensive.

It was ups for me.. still felt bad for him. I'd of helped if I saw him out there tbh given how hot it is.

You can buy some of these "ala carte" for about the same price, per pound, as the sets, using the same link.

The larger sets add atypical weights (15 lbs, 55, lbs, 35 lbs, etc) rather than multiple plates of the same weight, which I personally anticipate being really annoying.

The 45 lb (0.872/ lb) and the 25 lb (0.860 / lb) pairs actually appear to carry a lower cost, per pound, than most of the sets. The 35 lb individual pair carries the lowest cost (0.829 / lb). For comparison, the cheapest set is the 210 lb at 0.854/ lb.
