I have a Juicebox charger and it was great for about 2 years. They recently updated the app and it's been a mess. Apparently it hasn't been an issue with everyone, but I can't recommend it since they changed the app.

I thought I was reading my own comment. Lol.
I also had this JuiceBox 40 for 3 years. They forced everyone to the new app which is really bloated with addition of public chargers and payment. No longer can control the charge amount (not talking about current).
The new app is buggy and initially kept insisting I use the old app for home charger. I had to have tech support manually delete my charger from their system. Then it was showing another extra grayed out charger besides mine. Tech support couldn't fix it. Also no way to control my charger without internet. Eventually I returned it to Costco. Bought WallBox from the recent sale.

JuiceBox wifi is very weak. It disconnects frequently even within 25ft away from my AP. I had to setup a repeater just for the Juicebox.

I've had the Juicebox 48 since April and it's been working fine for me. I can schedule charging during off-peak hours. It's durable and the cord length is long. The app seems fine to me, even with the updated version. I can set the amps, schedule charges, see history and other things. I just use my Tesla adapter and no issues just yet. I'm not saying other users issues aren't real, but am saying try it for yourself.

I've had an older Juicebox 40 for over 6 years now. It worked great the first few years and then would stop connecting to the app/server intermittently. I could see it on the wifi from my router but it would not show as connected in the App. I had set the Juicebox to 30 Amps charging and was stuck on it for close to a year. It was fine when we had the Bolt but when we got the Tesla we could not increase the amps.

One day the Juicebox magically started connecting to the app again and I set it to 40A and now adjust the charge settings from the car. We have not had to open the app since. It's a shame since the scheduling features were pretty nice.

If this new version does not allow you to make adustments outside the app, i would stay away.

Completely agree. This was my 2nd Juicebox purchase and it's been a negative experience because of the app.

On the new one I had turned on time of day mode so I can charge at off peak times, however their "JuiceNet" network went down and I couldn't connect and charge my car… I had to call their technician support just to get charging. Again, the new app and the transition for old users is awful. Until they have a reliable app, I'd pass.

Other notes: others may have stated this already but the length of the Costco version is 20ft vs 25ft. That was a deal breaker for me.

Check your local electric co for discounts, paid about $150 for this a year ago direct through them.

Get a Wallbox instead for $30 less and has a 25FT cable:

https://www.costco.com/wallbox-pu...81778.html

It can do service load management (needs an additional monitor for your panel + wiring) which is pretty useful if you are stuck on a small residential service (100A, 60A).

Take this with a grain of salt because I do not own this charger but I have charged at one publicly. The enel X app is awful. I haven't yet been able to get the app to recognize any of the chargers but for an at home charger, this is maybe not an issue. I also lost a tesla/j1772 adapter to one of these because the j1772 plug overheated and melted my adapter. The car charger fine but when I went to charge at a different charger station next, the adapter holes were all melted inside. Maybe a tesla problem, maybe a debris problem, but overall, I have a bad history with this charger. Hopefully it works well for those that are in for one.

I thought mine didn't have a problem but I come to find out that the plug gets hot in the 152F range. I did further investigation and the heat starts from the left side of the plug while the right side remains cool.
I've contacted Enel-X and they insist an electrician needs to check the outlet first before they start swapping out the unit for another one.
