Klein isn't the brand it once was, they got bought up. You can go to Walmart and buy a kit with no contact, outlet tester and multimeter for like 40$
There are a lot of hollow brands now. Investment groups buy up companies, cut quality, raise prices, and try and bleed the market for as much as the decades of consumer confidence and brand loyalty was worth until they run the name into the ground and move on like locusts to the next opportunity. They don't care about the products or services, the consumers, the environment, the laws, or health and safety, only money. They buy off politicians, and the politicians keep them rich. It is a vicious circle. Talk about anything that challenges the hegemony and you'll be marked for cancellation, labeled a domestic terrorist/racist/sexist/bigot/etc, doxed, audited, sued, intimidated, slandered, libeled, demonitized, deplatformed, and the list goes on.

Of all meter brands, Klein is perhaps the least appealing. No significant improvement, if any, over the decent china meters (not talking about HF freebies), but with a big markup.
None of Fluke's cache or provenance within the field of multimeters, but a history of decent hand tools for electricians, people will tend to make a connection that isn't really there Maybe I'm just being cynical.
The absolute worst though is the color which seems to want to evoke some of the Fluke mystique. Reminds me of when Pontiac decided to call their new car a Fiero, in case anyone failed to notice which prestigious brand they were hoping to be confused for at a distance.
As an electrician I can tell you not to waste your money on these newer Klein multimeters, anything on Amazon with a lot good reviews is as good or better than this for half the price. You could 4 tools for the price of this 1
Well put me on the other side of the discussion. I bought a Klein MM720 a few months ago on sale for about $55 and its worked great for me on hobbyist electrical work and troubleshooting. The temp probe puts you in the ballpark but I wouldn't say its super accurate if thats important to you. The orange color is actually a rubber bumper that is supposed to make it more likely to withstand drops and bumps. Sure, its not a Fluke but anything at this price point is Chinese, including Fluke's offerings.
Klein was not "bought up" and is still owned by the Klein family.
Klein does not sell Fluke-grade meters, however the seem to have decent quality control vs the no-branded ones.
Yeah, there are just too many people that don't care about facts, verification, or really truth or reality. All they care about is their own often inexperienced, uneducated opinion then they present it as fact. If you call them on it and present facts to them or in any way challenge their way off base statements they dive into personal attacks and name calling. I really wish the population of people like that goes down and the population of capable fact based, reality based people goes up.
