This is 11th Gen and LGA 1200

I know that newer stuff is better and cheaper in comparison however this is for people who want to do specific builds or already have an LGA 1200 Board. For example the Asus Gundam Motherboard is LGA1200 if you want to make a themed build this would be the CPU for that.

Gamer's Nexus called this chip "a waste of sand", meaning it was not worth the money over the i5 of the same generation - nor did it hang with the performance of the i9 of 11th gen. They have various benchmarks that with a small overclock on the i5-11600K you can get better performance in gaming. The "K" designation also indicates it's ability to be overclocked. Comparing these two chips in PASS MARK the i7-11700 gets a score of 19,997. The i5-11600K get a score of 19,725. Best buy has the Intel Core i5-11600K for 179.99. A much better deal...

Only if you have an LGA 1200 motherboard. If you are building fresh I would definitely recommend the 12th gen, but you have to make sure you get an LGA 1700 motherboard.

Yes, but the margin and price difference between the two are usually greater. Previous generations have had a clear difference between the i5, i7, i9 designation in benchmarks (for the most part). The issue isn't exactly that the i9 is not much better than the i7, the real problem is the i5 is basically on the heels of the i7 for a much better price. You do get 2 additional cores but (for gaming) the small increase in FPS is not worth the price difference. Hence the "waste of sand" designation that either you care about price and get the i5 or you care about high end performance and get the i9 to overclock it.

I was given a new z590 Aorus Ultra so i bought one but it's weird these less desirable CPUs never dropped in price compared to 12th gen and i hate Intel changing their socket so frequently.
