I just finished 1883 recently. The acting is good, the cinematography is fantastic, but the writing is so woke. You have to constantly remind yourself that this is the year 1883 because they infect the plot with things that wouldn't be happening in 1883. Like women who decide that they are going to do whatever the heck they want. "I'm going to ride horses, and there's nothing a man can say to make me take care of the children". That kind of absurdity. The entire show is littered with plot fabrications like that.

In other words this is a feel good series made to appeal to modern men and women, not entertainment designed to appeal to not sees or people who are throwbacks to a different time period, and not historically accurate.

I enjoyed it, it wouldn't have been enjoyable had it been historically accurate.

I enjoyed this series even though I haven't been able to get into Yellowstone at all, Yellowstone puts me to sleep and bores me to death.
