Thanks going to pick one up. Is this the one that requires the firmware update for rtl9210 chipset? How are there so many posted on Aug 04 2023 with different version numbers, which one do I use? https://www.station-drivers.com/i...ang,en-gb/

I'm not sure. It looks like it uses rtl9210, but it's unclear to me if that's accurate.

From what I have seen online, it seems like RTL9210B and ASM2362 are good chipsets

Do you like how they perform? I'm not sure if it's any good.

Nice, I'm always a bit worried when a sliding design is used. I had issues with the thermal pad getting messed up when sliding the cover on a different brand.

Is this same thing?
I don't think so. I think the one you linked from eBay is sata only. The one in this deal is both sata and nvme.

Nope. Today even mid-tier motherboards are equipped with USB 3.2 Gen. 2 10x10 and a mere 10Gbps is a bottleneck for any NVMe drive. 20Gbps or bust -- don't waste your money on outdated tech. They'll sell this inventory out to suckers before finally bringing their enclosures up to spec.
I realize that SDers might be a bit spoiled tech-wise, but you really need to pull your head out of the sand and take a look at the vast numbers of desktops/laptops still in daily use that can use this, and use it for years.

It's $13, not $1300. It is still very useful. Especially since it handles both SATA and NVMe, so can be used on even older drives in older systems, when cloning, etc to move to a "new" system.

This looks like it won't have that problem, as the pad attaches to an aluminum slider plate ("cooling vest") that presses against the outer shell.

save your money. Orico is not a quality manufacturer. I got one from them and they didnt even bother to screw the board to the enclosure and it rattles inside. This was for a $100 enclosure. sabrent and acasis much better.

I have no need for more than 850'Mbytes a second on my 10gbit $13 enclosure. If I want more, I would use tb4 40Gnps but those enclosure are $125. Come on dude

I would not waste money on 20Gbps enclosure which is around $40 I would just go 40Gbps if you are true power user
