damn this is a good deal but pulled the trigger on a 7900 xt for 750 bucks and got starfield premium edition as well

This belongs sub $500 (if not $450). It will see sub $500 by end of year. GPU inventory is not getting cleared and the GPU makers are losing the game of chicken as the inventory ages making the proposition of holding out on further price drops a worsening proposition. Demand simply isn't there at Covid pricing b/c "free" money distorts demand, demand as a hole was pulled forward and the goodwill among PC gaming enthusiasts has been destroyed (as well as a return to more traditional work schedules rendering the value and time spent on the hobby declining substantially). The only factor keeping the mfgr's slow rolling price drops is the insufficient improvements in the most recent generation.
