its a $75 timex. You don't buy these watches looking for greater water resistance you buy them for fun lol. Never in my 20 years of watch collecting have I heard of anyone, on any forum have their watch fail in any body of water that was suitable for the watch. Honestly why do you even care about 30m WR? If you do, and you dive, then sure. But if you're a desk diver like 99.9% of collectors then you will never even test the limits of this watches WR.

Well done, sir or ma'am! I ended up getting TWO watches! Yahoo! I actually didn't get the Q reissue. Instead I went for a Waterbury Automatic that I got for only $111 and change and a Celestial Model that I just couldn't pass up! $190 out the door and an (irrationally) happy fella! Thank you so much for sharing this information so freely and generously! Love a generous Slickster!

Celestial that was $79-ish after discount: https://timex.com/products/q-time...-tw2v53500

Waterbury that was $111-ish after discount: https://timex.com/products/timex-...-tw2v53400

I LOVE them BOTH! But that Waterbury takes the edge! This watch stuff is so much fun and just makes this old man smile. Doesn't matter if it's $11.99 on the AMAZE-on or $2,000.00 from Bob's, whatever makes me smile WINS! (I've never spent over $2,000.00 on a watch. Probs from some childhood issue. We all have our crutches)

AnyHOO!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH OP! New Watch Day is SO FUN!!! - Frosty

I like these watches just for the sheer fun of them. There are some simple, colorful (and again - fun) models to be had.

Note: The Waterbury automatics are powered by Miyota (by Citizen) 8205 movement. It should be tough, reliable, with 21 jewels, a 42 hour power reserve and a 21,600 bph beat rate.

I'm not sure about the comparative value, given that a few months ago I bought a Tissot with an accurate ETA Powermatic 80 movement and sapphire crystal for $209. But then again, for +/- a C-note, why not.

And why not - in for one.

I have 5 timexs, this one does not tick loudly like 2 of them I have, one being an automatic and the other being a quartz. One thing this does miss is the indiglo unfortunately. Slim, easy to wear with anything, and nice band. Even got some compliments and one guy with a Pepsi Rolex thought it was the same watch, not sure what he was on...The band originally pulled a few hairs, but must have worked itself out since it doesn't do it anymore, and yes I still have hair on my wrist. Haven't scratched the acrylic yet. I wish this had a click bezel, but oh well. Too bad they don't have the black one on sale or the silver gold one for that cheap. It did seem like the battery went rather quick, but changing it is super easy.

Does it tick loud though? As in very audible? If it does your Rolex is dumb trash.

I feel that you are lacking in reading comprehension. First grade English?
Yeah it's a mechanical watch. Some people like you though, are under the belief that no Rolex should tick. Yes english good.

Waitlist? Are you stuck in Q3 2019- Q2 2022? It's 2023 and since Q3 of 2022 consumer discretionary when it comes to luxury has significantly dipped. You can get any Rolex you like now at MSRP and sometimes below MSRP but not by much (Tax can be waived). I know a Rolex dealer if you need a GMT.
I know the gmt question was a funny one so not sure if your reply to that was trying to be funny but I've been to at least 10 Rolex official stores in 10 different countries over the last year, including some of the biggest ones like Zurich and there's no GMTs available for at least another couple of years.

Watches 36mm-42mm are decent for most wrists unless you are a gorilla.
Hey, now.. now… did you just insulted the (cough) Invicta fanboys?

I agree. I had assumed that they had gone the way of other American companies like Zenith, RCA, Bell&Howell, etc. In fact, I wonder Timex is currently any more than a licensing brand. I'm not sure what niche they're filling to survive. Smartwatches can be had for <$100. My Samsung Watch 4 was $79. For people more into style, you can get very attractive watches for around the same price, e.g. Skagens. Or get a Citizen or Seiko, which have better reputations -- and often more features and complications, e.g. solar, atomic or GPS syncing,. And Timex certainly isn't filling the luxury or collectibles market. I've always associated Timexes with $10 watches at the drugstore counter. I wonder how they can justify the $189 list price. Or even the $75 discounted price. I own 23 watches, some manual or automatic, some < $100 (e.g. 5 x Skagens since I like Danish minimalism) and yet I have never even considered getting a Timex for style, functionality or collectibility. And now, not even for price.
I have 70 watches. No Skagens though. Thinking about getting one though.

Great deal! Almost pulled the trigger, but the orange on this is too bright for my taste.

If it had greater water resistance I would get it. 30 M doesn't cut it.
When's the last time you were in the water deeper than 30 meters? I'd assume you could just have a diver watch for say idk diving.

I already answered this. The 30m indication is not enough resistance to swim at 30M or even 5M. It's appropriate for hand washing and that's about it.
