The retail pack that comes with the SDXC card adapter is $5 cheaper, at $34.99?

The kit with the USB adapter is $5 more. I don't know if the USB adapter gets one faster read/write over other USB card adapters, or if using a laptop's built-in SD card reader.

You're right. I searched for USB SDXC adapters and no-name quality ones were easily $10+. Now I can start to turn extra SDXC lower sized leftovers into USB memory sticks. Likely not as fast as good quality USB dedicated sticks, but better than leaving older lower-capacity SDXCs in a bag.

Bought the 256gb last time this deal popped up for similar price. The USB reader is excellent and more versatile than the sdcard reader that is typically included with the microsd.

Amazon can be the worst place to buy when it comes to fakes. They blend their genuine inventory with SBA sellers that send them in. Be aware that you should confirm the ones you get there are genuine.
