I consider it a fantastic starter recreational kayak and to me it's still well worth the nearly $450 I paid at that time. It's great on lakes and any typical slow/medium flow rivers. You wouldn't want it for fast moving or whitewater rivers for sure, as it tracks too well and sluggish on quick turns.
The bottom of the rear hull, in the most rearward 2 feet or so has 3 deep 'tri-hull' keels, 2 towards the outer edges and one in the center that are each about 1.5" wide, with deep concave 'wells' in-between them, which really adds a lot of stability, as well as straight line tracking and speed.
You would have zero regrets getting this for a starter recreational kayak, or even as an experienced recreational kayaker.
Add/Edit: Not my pic, but I attached a pic showing the rear keels/tri-hull design. Gives you a much better idea of what I'm talking about.

I paid almost $450 for mine and that was 'on sale' from Dicks almost 7 years ago.
I've owned this Perception Hook Angler kayak, and also a Perception Swifty Deluxe, and this is a great sport/fishing kayak.
This is also far faster than my 'Swifty' on lakes/flat water. lol
BTW, Baton Rouge (70836) is showing 9 available.
