Use PBO2 to undervolt it, you can usually shave 10-20 degrees off without negatively affecting performance.

Have also this CPU for a year. Mostly gaming application and it has been great. Paired with a 6900XT. No bottlenecks, plays Fh5 on max settings. Flight sim, rocket league. Fortnite. Etc.

I use msfs with VR headset too and this works well for that also.

Mine is teamed with 64gb of 3200mt ram, probably be better with 3600mt ram.

Is this worth upgrading from an AMD Ryzen 3900? (I'm a graphics teacher and teach and utilize the Adobe products.)

Are you on a 3900 or 3900x? To me neither seems like this would be a great upgrade. They are all very similar. The 3900 is more eco and lower wattage. I might wait until you see a good reason to switch to DDR5 and AM5.

Wait until the am5 boards are out of the stratosphere in price. Then go am5 upgrade.

Edit: really sad what happened in Maui. I was there for my honeymoon in June, walked around Lahaina and visited the Bayan tree. My flight out was canceled due to a bush fire in Lahaina as well. Thanks United!!!

I have used this processor to build my PC couple years ago paired with X570 Tomahawk MB in a fractal case and can't be happier. I primarily use for work, meetings and gaming and have not experienced the heat issues; the computer runs super fast, responsive and can't be happier.

I'm running a 5900X on a Tuf Gaming X570 Pro II, with a Vetroo 5 Air Cooler. Temps are fine. Never get above 69C under full load.
