most games on the xbox store aren't giftable sadly. If the discount involves a gamepass/gold discount its not giftable, since the price requires an active sub.

Might I suggest instead buying a 1 or 3 month gamepass ultimate code and giving your friend that instead, it gives them access to an insanely huge game library for the time period including the upcoming Starfield which releases in like 2 or 3 weeks and is probably gonna be Elder Scrolls level of hype, buzz, and player base. They'll also get access to all the Forza games which are AWESOME if you are sick and just wanna zone out for a while, especially as a fellow older gamer. I sunk over 150 hours into Forza Horizon 5 after surgery.

The 3 month code is only $40 at amazon, costco, best buy, on and on. probably can get it on the microsoft website too although I dunno if its giftable there or binds to the buying account.

Thank you for that. I actually just noticed some show the gift option in the <... > menu, which was where I was looking, then some show it as a gift icon that is not a very good gift icon, so I was overlooking it. So there are probably a lot that are giftable. Going back to the top of the list now that I've figured that out Smilie

But thank you. Glad you like the Forza stuff and hope you are getting better. I was cruising though the Forza Motorsports 7 before it was discontinued. Had to buy the disc, despite owning it, to fire it back up. I've recovered from a bulged disc that kept me out of the racing seat for a good while.

So love getting old. I'd recommend it to everyone.

time flies when you are having fun, didn't realize that but then I can't remember when I bought it. I'm just too busy with other things and getting too old for next gen, lost my twitch long ago. Peace I may change my mind around BF if I get a another steal on one. For the casual local solo gameplay and UHD media

Had an S for a bit but just picked up an X at Target (the deal is still active) for $261.70 cause I used every coupon and gift card I had lying around (a lot from Microsoft Rewards btw, didn't even realize it could be redeemed for Target GCs). I doubt BF will beat that. If you want next-gen you could get next-gen. I understand life though. I just didn't want you moping around for something that's been around aging itself out in the tech world for 10 years. Enjoy your day.

But look at all the games they did add, and to FPS boost, and auto HDR. One day the narrative with change around the Xbox and folks will be all "damn they've been doing all of this the entire time" and it will be a good time.

You need at least Xbox Gold to use any online features/multiplayer, but you should be fine without it for any single player stuff. Some of these games are only discounted for existing subscribers.

I would also keep in mind that some games may require a constant online connection, so you might need at least Gold to play those games at all, even single player.

I believe they are re-branding Gold to "Game Pass Core" or something like that soon, just fyi.

If it makes you feel any better, bulged disc happens at any age and is not "really" an age related injury. I know several folks in their mid-twenties who got them. It's result of lots of different factors (such as lack of core and lower back strength, sitting for hours with bad posture, etc.).
