These sit "higher" on the water than normal kayaks and I guess are more unstable because of that.
Not really true, stability has more to do with width; these are plenty wide and pretty stable, just a little softer on the bottom.

You're either kidding or a spam bot. The reviews are hardly 'solid'. Tons of complaints about the size (if you are taller than 5.5') and durability.

Maybe good for a small lake, for kids. That's about it.
And that price is not that slick either.

Can't speak for other person, but not kidding or a spam bot and I found the reviews solid as well. Yes, you're correct, the consensus is that this is a boat for small people; there's no getting around that. But, if you are small or want an extra kayak for a kid, it's decent, especially for the price and relative to the quality of any other inflatable kayaks at the same price.

It can simultaneously be solid and have a significant caveat that makes it a poor choice for a lot of people. Fortunately for anyone interested, there are plenty of objective reviews to read through. The review curve isn't bad, it's not like it's a "U" shape which I'd find more concerning in terms of durability.

3 of the 8 most recent reviews:

"left for less than an hour came back to one side half deflated, thought maybe i didn't add as much as I needed tried again same result."

"I was so excited to receive my kayak, but when I inflated it, the right side wouldn't hold air. Unfortunately, I will need to return it."

"I would not recommend this kayak. May have been the exception, but both side chambers leaked on first use."

You can't honestly tell me this is a "solid" set of reviews. But sure, if you want to keep touting this product, go ahead. I figured it would be helpful to others to warn them of what they might be getting into (literally).

Perfect for my 12 and 13 year old kids to kayak with me without breaking the bank. Solid buy. I had two intex K2 that ended up with holes at the seams. Hope this one last longer.

Spam bot? Sorry just someone who has been looking for a while and honestly felt the reviews were solid. There were low numbers of 1 star reviews (something I look for) and the YouTube reviews I watched convinced me. One guy was my size, 5'10", and fit fine. Obviously any online order has some risk, but I stand by my research.

I'm not "touting" anything. Everyone is free to read the reviews and arrive at their own conclusion. Personally I'd rather invest in a rack system for the car and not deal with an inflatable... but that jacks up the overall cost significantly.

What I am doing is defending someone's right to say the reviews look solid to them without ridicule, because based on the shape of the review curve it does in fact look like a solid product to me as well. I've seen some bad review trends on Amazon, this isn't one of them.

Granted, I didn't check if the reviews passed a fakespot test. And if there's a run of more recent negative reviews, then that's worth pointing out, but doesn't require leaving a comment just to insult someone because you disagree with their assessment.
