Batches of this drive over the past year seem to be failing in outrageous numbers. I have one from about two years ago that has been going strong, but I would not recommend these that have been produced recently.

Just had the 1TB Extreme version of this drive die on me last week, partition just disappeared - drive wiped clean and unable to even repartition it and format new. I would not buy any of SanDisk's portable drives ever again unless at a steep 70% or more discount with the understanding that the drive could render itself obsolete at any moments notice.
