I think the point is the RAM and especially the discreet graphics card. This is basically the equivalent to a 1050 TI desktop and has RTX support. Old but still show run circles around any 2023 integrated 'card' or should game / do CAD better most $500 laptops.

Not everything is about CPU.

Thank you! That, and the display with 500-nits brightness.

For what this laptop is aimed for, that being productivity esp at this price, the CPU and dGPU are capable enough despite being years old.
But most of the mouth breathers over here won't realize that.

I had an x1 extreme edition which looks identical to this… love that laptop till the screen cracked .. work gave me a new dell 9430 and it is sooo disappointing compared to this older laptop in terms of slickness

The weight to performance is awesome

Good deal on this older laptop but I'm not sure about woot pcs, if was $100 cheaper I would bite

Nope, the 680M on Zen 4-based Ryzen 7 outperforms it [videocardbenchmark.net]. Of course those laptops cost more than $500, but just as a factual matter your statement is incorrect.

Not worth even at 1/4th of the price. 9th gen is too old.

OMG...so you found a single CPU with iGPU that "outperforms" this actual dedicated graphics card (while also ignoring the rest of my statement about RTX etc) therefore my entire statement is blanket incorrect?

Let me ask you this is "the lottery is a waste of money" iNcOrReCt because there are a few cases of people profiting from it? LOL, even gravity has exceptions but I guess you'll also claim that is incorrect too LMAO

And you even admit my point is still correct in spirit. Just that I should have had an asterisk beside a single sentence? Very helpful*.

*Not actually in 99.999999% cases but I am sure someone with enough time on google could find an exception.

A large part of your original comment is about performance of T1000 vs integrated cards. If that is wrong, there is very little left in your comment. And to be honest I don't think people who buy this laptop care about RTX support.

In fact the graphics card 680M mentioned by the other is from 2022. 780M found in this year's models is even faster.

No need to be so defensive and write such a long, meaningless reply for such trifle things especially when you are in the wrong.
