It's the way I do it. 50 days for $7.69. Keep in mind this is about to go up to $17 a month next month. The official price that is.

50 days. Just shy of 2 months. For example mine was extended from July 30th 2024 to now September 20th 2024.

Yes, you can do that.
PC gamepass is cheaper, and I believe there is a better way to maximize the conversion for people doing the $1 start, but I really don't know much about either of those.
By the way, Microsoft Rewards has gamepass PC for like 6750 points on auto redeem. If you are willing to spend like 10 minutes a day doing searches on bing and clicking on things you can hit that in a month extremely easily and get gamepass PC for free.
But yes you can start with a trial and then add on the 50 days by redeeming the codes on to your account.
