The new PLUS is a little lighter, has higher-quality mouse feet, and has a greatly extended advertised battery life with its RGB lighting off. It also has better click latency and now features hybrid optical-mechanical switches rather than the standard switches used on the LIGHTSPEED. The X Plus also goes to 25000 dpi.

The changes are not ultra substantial but the new hybrid button clicks are nice. That's personal preference.

You're comparing wired to wireless. The regular G502 wireless isn't much cheaper than this, and this is definitely the better mouse. I'm a guy who has been using the regular G502 for years and has a drawer with several brand new ones from the $25 deals that I got in case of failure or if it gets discontinued. I just got a wired G502X and will likely get a wireless version too. Logitech's improvements are pretty nice so far.

I have experience with both the EVGA X17 and X20. They are cheap junk. Particularly notorious for the scroll wheel breaking. My X17 broke in less than two months and EVGA replaced it with an X20, which also broke in 6 months. There's a reason they were practically being given away until available stock started getting low.

I got the non-RGB version in hopes of scrolling not degrading from the optical switches. Fingers crossed. So far so good.

Also the infamous 'Logitech Double Clicking' doesn't happen since the buttons are optical. Otherwise, I would not buy a Logitech due to their button reliability.

Is this mouse really worth 4X the $25 gaming mouse that was on sale and posted on SD a few times?
Value is subjective. This has features that makes it worth the price for many, but probably not for you. Logitech was first to market with a good, proprietary wireless mouse connection and the mouses have compatibility with their also expensive wireless charging mousepads.

If you don't care about the wireless portion, then get the wired version. If you don't care about the features on both the wired and wireless versions, get something that fits your budget and need.

There's no real objective way to judge if something is X times better than another.

how is this compared to G604? is this supposed to be a lower grade mouse than that?

I'm so used to pay ~$35 for a G604 that I'm having trouble understanding these pricing nowadays...... I've probably had at least 5 G604 over the years

Just got 502 x this morning. One down side would be no Bluetooth on 502 for me.

"isn't much cheaper"? Huh? "Regular" G502X wired cost 60, which is MUCH cheaper. Regular-er G502 HERO wired is $35 often on Amz. Both are much lighter since they don't need to have batteries but have cords

The major selling point of this is the optical switches. Theoretically they'll never develop the dreaded double-click issue. However it's also the mouse's biggest flaw in my personal opinion. I bought the G502 X lightspeed non-RGB and I had to return it after a few days because of the jarring metallic ping from the switches. Logitech said it was normal and that nothing was wrong with it. Look up "logitech g502 x pinging noise" to hear some examples shared by people. Maybe it won't bother you but I couldn't stand it.

Bought this mouse on Prime Day, but sadly had to return. The side buttons are VERY easily pressed and I kept accidentally hitting them buttons with my thumb. I have average sized hands, I would say medium to large hands should avoid this mouse.
Other than that it's a great wireless mouse:
-battery life is awesome (even better with the LEDs off)
-tracking is very precise
-lightweight
-USB C

Do you mean the sniper button? That's the only one that's easy to press for me, but it comes with an adapter to make it flush so it doesn't get in the way. I don't use the sniper button myself, but it seems like a good idea when you need precision.

I was comparing it to a deal like this that was posted recently. In this case it is like 6x more expensive - https://slickdeals.net/f/16858475-evga-x20-16-000-dpi-wireless-ergonomic-gaming-mouse-black-16-50-free-shipping-w-prime-or-on-25-or-35.

I realize that the mouse referenced in this post is better, but is it really 6x better or will it last 6x longer?
The EVGA accessories line is a failed product line and they're clearing out inventory. I personally like the keyboards and think they're a great deal on sale, but the mice have been known to fail quickly. Sometimes the buttons even fall off.

Sorry, should have been more clear. Not the sniper button, the actual side buttons that are above the thumb resting area are the ones that were super easy to press for me. I loved the flexibility to be able to remove the sniper button.
