The Q60C is Samsungs budget QLED with no local dimming, no HDMI 2.1, and only 60Hz. The Sony also has superior processing, Dolby Vision, and is brighter in both SDR and HDR. It's not even close.

The sony has direct full array backlight and is 2nd highest ledtv they offer. The samsung you listed is q60 series, a budget line. To get a similar spec, you have to buy the q80 series or higher with a full array.
You can essentially do that with this TV by completely disabling the network features (LAN/WI-FI), and you can set up the TV in basic TV. I don't believe you have to sign into your Google account in basic TV mode.

Side note. You could look into those commercial displays, but the picture quality isn't going to be close to what you can get with the X90K or similar TV.

Not an issue if you use an AV receiver, but yeah, still surprising.

You can thank the MediaTek chipset for that. Sony, Panasonic, possibly TCL and Hisense use some iteration of that chipset. If you want/need four HDMI 2.1 ports, you'll want to get a Samsung or LG. A lot of people were able to get the QN90B for a little less than $1699 several months ago, and it's fantastic!

I wish we could go back to the days of "dumb" TVs. I don't want google or anything else in my TV. Use all that software space to process a better picture and let the Rokus of the world worry about being "smart". Anyway, not a bad TV but drop a little size and buy OLED if you don't need all 85 inches.

You'd have to be dropping alot of size to get a new OLED at a similar price point. Can't see someone looking for an 85" TV being satisfied with a 55".

This or the 77" OLED currently on sale at Costco for $1500?
I ordered the OLED yesterday, but not sure if I really need OLED as this is a living room TV and I already have an Epson 5050 projector and 120" screen in my theater.
