The Slickdeals community team has been working hard to make Slickdeals the best it can be for over 20 years, and new updates roll out to the community almost every week.
As a part of that effort, we'll be merging the Classic version of Slickdeals with the latest version of Slickdeals over the next 12 months.
You can anticipate the following as part of that platform merger:
If you primarily use Classic, there's no need for you to take any action. Your current Slickdeals account will remain active and will change to the current, unified experience automatically.
Millions of Slickdeals members are already using the current version of the website, which has dark mode support, improved shopping intelligence, and easier ways to engage with the community.
Change can be hard. Bringing all Slickdealers together into a single experience will enable you to continue to enjoy the latest community features and enhancements.
Thank you for being a member of the Slickdeals community!
As a part of that effort, we'll be merging the Classic version of Slickdeals with the latest version of Slickdeals over the next 12 months.
You can anticipate the following as part of that platform merger:
- Access to the Classic version of Slickdeals will reduce over time. This process starts on August 22, 2023.
- You can expect a variety of improvements to the latest version of Slickdeals, often referred to within the community as "Redesign," specifically intended to make it easier for Classic users to transition to Redesign.
- The team of engineers and product folks managing the merger will conduct continuous interviews to make sure a variety of community voices and points of view are included. You can sign up for a 1:1 with a team member here [calendly.com].
- If you primarily use Classic, you will migrate over to the newest version of Slickdeals throughout the next year.

I'd ask anyone who is truly opposed to this change to schedule a time to talk with someone from SD one on one. Maybe, if we get enough folks to talk to them directly, maybe, just maybe, we can get them to give us a ... hmm... a Classic Clone using redesign. (?)

is this not working for you ? https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=
When I posted, no. It is now, though. No idea why it resisted before.
yeah it happens sometimes to all of us
glad ya got it sorted
If that doesn't work then you can try emailing [email protected] to ask for help fixing it.

I was using mostly the redesign view, and then I would have to go back to the classic view for the redesign's lackings, like the search is not as good as on the classic… This is even worse than the redesign I got used to. So much wasted space! *No subscribe to thred button?
Is the site reloading much more than usual or is it just me? oh Lord, *I don't want to see threads in classic view either. Why don't you just leave it in the last redesigned version which is close enough to this new version anyway! So much damn scrolling!………*added comments

*At the very least, why don't you guys make it easier to switch from version to version as that is going to be necessary now? That is fix it so we can switch back-and-forth from any page!
* I can get it to the old redesign, but then every time I came back to it today it was back to this new design I hate!

*Now I'm getting the old previous redesign view.
The subscribe to thread is still in the same place it's always been, under the Thread Tools button at the top of any thread, in Classic and in Redesign.
If you prefer the white of Redesign but the format of Classic, you can try the Ice theme in Classic. It's a mix of white mostly and blue I think (sorry haven't looked at that in a long time so not sure how well it works these days). It's under the Forum Skin option in your profile options page https://slickdeals.net/forums/profile.php?do=
Switching back and forth, is still fairly easy by clicking either Redesign view or Classic at the bottom left or right of the site pages (depending on which view you're currently in), but frankly best to do it from a non front page thread if going to back to Classic. I don't know why Classic tends to 'stick' better from there though, it just seems to from the posts I've read and my own experience.
Sorry wish I could be more help

It's like more space is being allocated but is not being used. Not pleasing to look at.

I am not just unsatisfied with the colors, because I know how to use every manipulation on my device to get the colors I want so as not to wreck my long-term health by blasting the wrong wave links at the wrong time of day…
I hate that this new design is choosing illegibility over legibility! that and the spacing which just adds up to wasting our time! I want maximum legibility, do my business quickly and get offline! whoever is in that line of work should learn something about eyesight and circadian rhythms. You guys are choosing to copy that completely boring and dysfunctional faint tidy style of Apple, Facebook… why can't you guys try to be distinctive from that dull illegible look!! the old classic design would be better than this. just add voting, less wasted spacing in the threads. Old style newspaper want ads would be a better style, with every block of space filled with data. And a dark type that is actually readable!
*also don't need each users stats to be so prominent in each comment, just takes us longer to go through a thread. it's easier to skip when it's off to the side.
* and clicking from email keeps takes me to the new version, so annoying.
1. Lack of dark mode -- this is built, but due to a bug we temporarily disabled it. We'll have this back up soon.
2. Missing thread tools, particularly for subscribing to a thread -- this is new, we'll look into this.
3. "Legibility" of text, particularly in list view -- we'll fix this as well.
4. Search results returning limited results: We're currently showing the last year of results with expired deals hidden and sorting by "relevance". There's a bug that prevents showing older deals. Additionally, we're tuning our search engine to get better results.
5. No community wiki: This is coming soon.
6. Thread issues including "Go to last post" / Having to scroll down to the page -- this is a bug. We'll fix it.
7. Missing a search comments feature: We had to take this out temporarily as it has a bug
I can understand your frustration dealing with these issues and want to share my appreciation for any / all feedback. Feel free to DM me, submit feedback to the blue "Feedback" button in the bottom right side.
