Buy a couple of these sets and post 'em on Reverb in a couple of weeks.
Fender doesn't see fit to include the DC resistance values for these pickups on the spec sheet, so here are some external measurements for the Vintera sets (these are not mine, but instead a shameless copypasta [stratocasterdesign.com]). That article mentions that the 'mod' sets slot the bridge and middle pickups from the 'vintage' sets up one space to the middle and neck, respectively, and add a hotter bridge pickup, resulting in hotter pickup sets.

'50s
1st set DCR: Neck: 5.7K, Middle: 6.1K, Bridge: 6.3k.
2nd set DCR:, Neck 5.9K, Middle 6.4K ,Bridge: 6.5K.

'50s modified:
DC Resistance: 6.0K Neck, 6.1k Mid, 6.5K Bridge

'60s:
DC Resistance Neck: 5.7k, Middle: 5.95k, Bridge: 5.95k

'60s Modified:
DC Resistance Neck: 5.7k, Middle: 5.95k, Bridge: 5.95k

'50s mod measure very close to Texas Specials, which I recall liking fairly well. Pretty substantial variance between the two measured sets of vintage '50s.

Edit: The linked measurements are identical for the '60s/Modified '60s sets. I don't know whether this is error or coincidence.

Picked up a loaded pickguard, turns out that $1.99 12 month subscription to Fender play paid off, I haven't used it yet after like... 8 months? But it took off another 10% from the sale price so it cost me $158 instead of $175 for the shawbucker pickguard before tax, NICE, thanks OP!

This is great for all of those ProAudioStar sale 40th anniversary Squires I've bought impulsively this year.

Which pickups would be the best upgrade for a 40th anniversary Squier? (I impulsively bought one, too)

They do have a shawbucker in a loaded pickguard. Of course that is like $100 more, but I personally like getting the pickguards since the guitars I am upgrading can use new knobs and 5 way switch as well, and they are a lot faster/easier to install. It also comes with gen4 noiseless which are decent... not the same as real single coils... but not bad, just a bit different. If you aren't looking for that fender chime... I dig the noiseless as the SC hum drives me nuts.
